Local 802 was also logically playing attention to the number of musicians as the shift was happening. That was already happening in 2007, when both BK's show and our show were at NYMF.

I saw The Ray Milland Show a couple of times....I think he was a college professor or something....it was right down there with Mr. Adams & Eve with Ida and Howard.....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujSo7e_up7E&t=476s

I was surprised, at first, to hear there ever was such a thing as The Ray Milland Show. And then I began to think I might have seen it at some point as a kid. But one look at that YouTube selection tells me that I never saw it.

My introduction to Ray Milland was the Corman/Poe film PREMATURE BURIAL, soon followed by PANIC IN YEAR ZERO and then X: THE MAN WITH THE X-RAY EYES. I loved Milland and the special air he brought to these kinds of proceeding, as a nice contrast to Vincent Price and the others. It was later that I began seeking out his earlier films. His presence in just about anything is still special to me.

Yesterday, Jane asked me about closing the bedroom door at night.

I have thought about closing the bedroom door, but it would mean moving his water and possibly his food dish in there, as well.  With Nick’s decreased eye sight I worry that he wouldn’t be able to find it in the dark and with my “klutz problems” I am afraid that I would find it.

I was hoping the obstacles wouldn't be too great :(

Last night, we watched KING OF THE ROARING TWENTIES w/ David Janssen.

It was about gambler Arnold Rothstein.

It was okay; not great.

The main reason I watched it was because my late friend and publicity client, Dan O'Herlihy, had a major role.

Also, Mickey Rooney

I did his Oscar campaign for THE BLACK STALLION.  We got the nomination, but Melvyn Douglas won the award.

Interesting scene for me was the one where O'Herlihy, playing a crooked cop, beats the crap out of Rooney.

I expected Rooney to win.

Hilarious West Side Story story in the New York Times:

Among the more tantalizing (and possibly apocryphal) threads of ?West Side Story? lore popped up not in The Times, but in an interview <https://www.courant.com/ctnow/arts-theater/hc-west-side-story-laurents-0522-20110522-story.html> Laurents gave to The Hartford Courant shortly before his death in 2011, in which he addressed rumors that Disney had once proposed an animated version of ?West Side Story? with ? cats?

?Someplace I have a seven-minute reel that they made with white cats and black cats,? he said. ?I remember the Maria cat came down the rope of a steamer illegally into the country. In the end I remember the Tony cat got run over. You can?t believe how terrible it was.?

Friday morning greetings!  I'm getting a little stir-crazy, but my ankle has calmed down quite a bit.

I did, too. The Black Stallion is a great movie. So is Being There, and Douglas was also worthy.

Writer Tom Sawyer (MURDER, SHE WROTE) tried to post the following comments about JASON ROBARDS At The Old Place on Amazon, but since Amazon has now changed the rules as to WHO can post reviews (i.e. You have to spend $50+ on Amazon during the past six months to qualify), it was rejected.   >:(

"AN AMAZING PLAY

"Entertaining and remarkably touching. Michael Druxman’s play makes memorable actor, Jason Robards, come alive as a multi-dimensional person, one whose humanness reaches out to us."

Thank you, Tom, for your comments and for trying.

I am home from City Center.  I took Tizanidine and Tramadol around 1:00, so by the time I left, I was feeling sleepy but walking wasn't the ordeal it can be.

That is a very nice review.  I understood when Amazon made the rule you had to purchase the item to review it.  This I do not understand.

For the medical professionals here at HHW.

My nephew John who is 33 years old - was discovered on Wednesday evening by his wife when she got home from work....she thought he had a stroke and rushed him to the hospital...

My brother and his wife went as well.

Doctors said yesterday that they thought his artery flaked and a particle went to his brain.

He had no paralysis and could talk and walk.....

Today they did a cath and dye and the doctor found that blood to the left side of his brain was completely blocked, but that he has a conduit from the right side of his brain to the left side that was taking blood to the left side.

The doctor said he had never seen anything like that before that the blood supply lines are completely separate....but it is something he must have been born with.

They are not going to do surgery and expect him to recover, but everyone has questions.

I will get more information I am sure as the days go by.  He is moving slow - but none of the usual stroke symptoms.

It was the case of the cheerleader who had buried her stillborn baby DR JANE.....not guilty on all counts except abuse of a corpse.

Yesterday at City Center I proofread "When Mable Comes In the Room."  It's a long number, but the longest thing in the score, I think, is "Hit 'em on the head," which replaced the number I prefer, "My Heart Leaps Up."  I guess I'll be getting that today.

I also prefer "My Heart Leaps Up," but I do also like "Hit 'Em On the Head"...just not as much. :)

It's a terrible number and the dance music is nothing but chromatic Mickey Mousing.  I might like it more if it had a good dance arrangement.  Peter Howard, John Morris, John Berkman, Trude Rittman, Genevieve Pitot, we will never see your like again.

I have an Amazon VISA credit card on which I charge over $1000.00 every month.  I earn Amazon credit points with each purchase, but I guess they don't count that.     >:(

Joshie gave me the most wonderful gift, the new orchestra score for The Wizard of Oz.  I didn't know it had been published, so that was a delightful surprise.  The editors give Herbert Stothart much credit for the score, but Andre Previn's book No Minor Chords makes Stothart look quite the fool.

That's really cool, Larry!
