The cats are happy to see me.  Annabelle has been quietly and gently reminding me it's dinner time.  She's once again jumping the gun and has a six minute wait.

First World problems.

A very frustrating one.  It is why I try to make sure I have a few books downloaded before traveling.  Of course you have had other things on your mind.

I have the complete words of Balzac downloaded. All 95 novels and novelas. I read one, An Invisible Mistress, and got halfway through A Daughter of Eve.

That's great.

Thanks DR JANE.....hopefully it was just a hard bump on the machinery that caused it to light up.  I was hoping so....but didn't believe myself to be that lucky.....

This morning I went to the high school that hires me for keyboard work, and picked up the books to their spring musical, Willy Wonka.

Hmm.

This stage version is based on the Gene Wilder movie, which I never remembered much of at all, so I'll have to watch it again. It seems like a strange choice for them, following Shrek and Addams Family and the like. At a glance, the music certainly doesn't look to be very challenging, but who knows.

I'm going to scan the books in so we can make work copies, then the other keyboardist and I (it calls for two) will decide on the programming -- whether to do it ourselves (he's a good MainStage programmer) or rent someone else's.

It took three HOURS to futz and finesse the ninety pages - forty-five from Saturday and then yesterday's.  Then I picked up a couple of packages, got some Taco Bell, came home, ate it, and have done ten new pages.  I'll spend the next two or three hours doing the rest, then I'll attend to the Kritzerland show.  We did find our pianist.

Twenty pages so far and I need a break.  Then I'll do another twenty and I'm in a pretty easy section so that won't take all that long.

This might sound weird but why do you only have one or a few books on your ereader? I probably have 100.

I have the complete works of Balzac (95 titles plus short stories), the Rougon-Macquart cycle from Zola (20 novels, including the one that was a little too purple to read in flight) and a bunch I've finished. That's the problem. I haven't updated anything lately.

I'm home. I got the bird. I got groceries. I taught a dance class and now I'm at rest.
