Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice is a superb documentary. They don’t shortchange the music for the talking heads, all of whom are excellent. If you like Linda’s voice, you’ll appreciate the movie, though the ending is sad.

Only oblique references to her La Boheme.

This has been a shitty day:
1. I stopped at the bank for cash; the ATM gave me a receipt and no money' I won't see it put back into my account until Tuesday.
2. Because of the bank tsuris I missed the bus and had to wait for a later one so I could not stop at the pharmacy for my meds.
3. When I left City Center for the pharmacy, my left leg was so painful, I copuld barely walk so I got a taxi, which cost me $16.00 I cannot afford to lose.
4. When I got in around 15 minutes ago, I fed the cats and the three refuse to eat what I served them.

And, in today's mail, I got a notice from the musicians union that, thanks to mismanagement of our pension account, my pension my be reduced by $200+ beginning January 2021. That Ohio property hasn't sold, and in another month I have to pull $600+ out of my butt for property taxes on a piece of land I never wanted.

Back from about six hours of rehearsal.

You know, lately I can never seem to type the word "rehearsal" right the first time; i.e., at normal typing speed. The "EARSA" pattern in one hand is ridiculous. I guess this is why alternate keyboard layouts were invented?

Anyway, I'm back from six hours of R E H E A R S A L and I'm ready for a Saturday evening cocktail, something decent to eat, and a ME evening of watching something or other.

Especially the cocktail.

Big Oy! to DR Laura, too, for sproinging her lower back.

I'll never forget the first time I did that, many years ago. I was alone in the house and I was in a near-panic, wondering if I'd damaged my spinal cord or something. I called a friend who had had many issues with her back and she talked me down. I soon learned the drill, which was to stay still, be careful, and let it heal on its own - however many days it takes.

I've started watching a production of The Tempest as staged in the round by a group of women prisoners. The woman who plays Propsero is amazing.

Sorry. Correction. They are not prisoners. They are women actors playing prisoners who are playing The Tempest.
