Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky tonight. Should be a very romantic program.

Enjoy :)

The reading of Mack & Mabel went very well.  Because i am a perfectionist, there were more clams than I would have liked, but Rob and Joshie were very happy with things overall.  The orchestrations are quite beautiful, and the band played very well./

Very good :)

DR Chassmith, if I'd known you had a free day, I would have invited you to the reading!

Oh, that’s very nice of you. And I’m sure I would have dragged myself there and totally enjoyed it. But I did well catching up on some much needed down time. Thank you, regardless!

After an hour we were approximate 6 miles from home since some genius decided to set up “rolling road work” and blocked off 2 lanes of a 3 lane parkway for 7 exits.

We got on the I 95 finally about 3 hours after leaving the house (it should have taken about 1) and now safe from road work slowdowns people decided to keep crashing their cars , apparently for the entertainment of passerbys who dutifully slowed to a crawl to get a good look, take a picture, paint an oil portrait of the occasion....

The Tchaikovsky Concerto No. 1 was pretty wonderful, thanks to the pianist.

I also liked the Shostokovich selections from The Gadly.

I think the audience liked Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet best.

Just before the concert I got the news that my friend Marsha Kramer passed away - cancer - she didn't want anyone to know, apparently.  She did Peter Pan with Sandy Duncan, did my show Together Again, did all the readings of my musical Pals, performed with me at the Gardenia, did a Kritzerland, and one of the ALS benefits.  A dear, wonderful gal she was.

The concert was great fun - I was pretty on and some of the patter really got huge laughs and I kept the way too long show moving as best I could.  We try to limit Henry's opening patter to three minutes - he did twenty-two minutes.  That will NOT be happening tomorrow afternoon.  But we should also eliminate two or three numbers.

Oh, my goodness!  Twenty-two minutes??  Did he think it was HIS show?? :o
