I too am surprised this is the first time I noticed the Libby option after reading how long it has been around.  I am still doing a bit of research to using it on my Samsung vs a Kindle.  The downside to the Libby I have read is that I can't adjust the brightness which might be a problem.

Since I have 4 library cards Libby would probably be better for me, except that I like using my computer, which doesn't hurt my shoulder, to put holds on the books.

At some point in the future I might give Libby a try.

I had to do some training courses we all have to take. I hate them. They put me straight to sleep

I have some DAR online courses I should be doing and this would be the perfect time for them, since I’m immobilized.  Just have to work up the motivation...

They’re excellent sleep aids.

DR George do you know anything about checking out eBooks through an app called Libby?  I saw the following on my library Overdrive:

Meet Libby.
Did you know your local library has thousands of ebooks and audiobooks?
You can borrow them, instantly, for free, using just the device in your hand.
Get the app for your phone or tablet!

It’s basically the same thing.

From what I have been reading I will stick with Overdrive.

I prefer it.

I did laundry today, paid several bills, took out the trash, and stopped for enchiladas. John G would be pleased.

BK, how did I miss the news about your directing APPLAUSE?  I wish I liked the score more than I do.

I don't think it was mentioned here. I knew because BK mentioned it in a phone conversation.

I've put the tax things I'm taking tomorrow into my bag and put all of my receipts into a storage box.  2019 taxes are finished.  I hope I get a nice return.

I hope you do, too. I'm having to rethink some things now that I must take a RMD from my IRA.

Did they offer food that you couldn't eat?

Aren't these online courses?

Thanks John.  I watched a couple of Libby videos and now I have a headache.  Maybe it means I should pass on Libby for now ;)

Was up at eight after only four hours of sleep.  Went back to bed around ten and slept until two-thirty.  Have been doing book stuff since.  Went to Gelson's and got stuff to make sandwiches (turkey).  Ate two, and now I'm listening to music and writing notes on the new act two scenes from the musical I'm working on.

Back to Howards End. Kenneth Lonergan's teleplay unfolds in a way that Robert Altman or Howard Hawks would have liked. Some of the scenes involving the younger brother are delightfully full of people talking all over each other in hilarious ways. Hayley Atwell is charming. And it's fascinating to see Matthew Macfadyen grow from Mr. Darcy to the elder Henry Wilcox.

Well, I did practically nothing today.  No laundry, no TV watching, only one Blu-ray copied...so practically nothing.

DR TCB, I've been meaning to ask this for some time: how is the name of your town pronounced?

If Tom doesn't mind (and if he does, it's too late ;) ), it's pronounced pyoo-AL-up.  It's as if they just put the letter y in the wrong place for some reason.

I don't use Libby, or even the OverDrive app, so I don't know too much about it.

From what I have been reading I will stick with Overdrive.

Use what you know, I say...especially if this Libby app might not be compatible with as many devices as the OverDrive app is (according to OverDrive's Help Section, Getting started with the Libby app).  What's the point, then??

I have finished Howards End. What a nice bit of storytelling with some amazing greens in the English countryside. Exceptionally beautiful. I want to see the James Ivory version again now. I had forgotten a few of the details at the end.
