DRLaura, beautiful picture of the Hawk.  :)
Did you and/or Sandra see my post regarding FOREVER PLAID?  Isn?t it one of your favorite shows, or is that just for Christmas?

Thanks, Jane.

Yes, I saw it and meant to respond. Sorry. You're going to see it, aren't you? Maybe you can play Heart and Soul.

I'm back from ye olde book signing.  Small turnout of mostly neighborhood friends, which is, sadly, the way signings go these days.  It was fun, though.

Not a weird bottom three at IDOL for me at all. In fact, I predicted two of the three, and as for the third one, well, that person's popularity was already in question and based on the calls I made last night, completely in step with the busy signals and lack thereof that I discovered.

I liked ALIAS a lot tonight, mainly because I have always loved the Marshall character and liked that he was given a mission to perform.

I also watched the new Tim Daly (fine looking man) detective series EYES tonight. They had about four plots going at once and jumped quickly back and forth between them. I think the show may be a bit too hyper to catch on. It also has the disadvantage of having the relatively weak ALIAS lead-in, and the killer competition of CSI: NY and LAW & ORDER on the other two networks.

The Tim Daly character has a gay best friend. There are also various snakes and good guys in the mix at the firm, all with their own agendas. There was even a surprise murder of one of them (or what appeared to be murder).

As I said, a hyper episode with a little bit of everything in the mix.

I almost broke down tonight and had a dish of ice cream, but I fought my craving with every ounce of resistence I had and was able to conquer it (for today anyway).

Oh, you were KIDDING.  If you're KIDDING and there's no way for a person to know if you're KIDDING, put a little smiley in there, baby.

vixmom - I have one word for you - esnipe.  Go to esnipe.com.  You may register for free and you don't have to buy and "bid points" for quite a while - it's all free.  Once you register, you put in the number of your auction, put in your TOP or HIGHEST bid you're willing to pay and esnipe will bid automatically six seconds before the auction ends.  Never fails.

oooh!! I must try this. Thank you!!

I never saw the point in a hickey.  I think I gave Keith one once and it looked silly.  I don’t remember if he gave me one. :-\

So the Gal's mom is in town and treated us to dinner at Barrymore's, and who do I run into as I am leaving, but our own talented Penny O. She was on her way to see ALL SHOOK UP. We were on our way to see SHOCKHEADED PETER. That was a pleasant surprise.

As for PETER, I hoped it would be better. I liked the horrific aspects of it much better than the comic aspects. Some of the sequences were really cool, but had I known the guy from the Tiger Lillies was going to sing EVERY song, I probably would not have gone. A little of his piercing falsetto goes a long way for me. Still, some incredible moments of staging and a couple genuine chills made it worthwhile.

Good Evening!

Back from the show.  Much better tonight (for me).  Less "wiggles" as the assistant conductor likes to call them.  Now I just need to learn to count to 4 over and over again.

1-2-3... 1-3-4... 2-3-4... 1-2-4...

It's actually a lot harder than one would think!

;)

We were all surprised when we were leaving the theatre to find that storms had finally come.  Nice torrential downpour and some lightning and thunder.  Thankfully, I had my $5.00 NYC umbrella with me.  But it started to die down just a few minutes later.  But there will probably be a lot of soaked Mamma Mia! programs in Memphis garbage cans tonight.

I haven't checked in on E-bay in a while... BUT...

Do they still allow you to place your highest bid "in private"?  So that you don't really need to worry about being sniped.  -Of course, that presumes you really do have a set spending/bidding level.

DR Danise - It looks to me like it is a wrapper from a Ricola Throat Drop.  Maybe someone gave you one?  Or at least the wrapper before a show?

Tomorrow.  I promise.  ;)

I did take a nap earlier this afternoon.  By the time I had woken up, it was already 5:30 and I had to get ready to head in for the show.  So...

But tomorrow I am planning on grabbing a good ole Southern breakfast, and after breakfast, I shall head to the Peabody to catch the 11:00 March of the Ducks.

The book was American Racist by Tony Slide - about Thomas Dixon and his "contribution" to Birth of a Nation and other books and films.

DR JOSE has it!  I agree, I think DR DANISE has unearthed a Ricola cough drop wrapper!

What goes on around here at this time of day?

Thanks for the vibes DR MBARNUM!

Cool!

The PBS station here in Memphis is one of those stations that rebroadcasts their programs in the late night hours.  The Live from Lincoln Center presentation of Passion will be on tomorrow night at 8:00pm and 1:00am!  Guess I'll be up late tomorrow night (again).
