Wednesday afternoon greetings!  We picked up this week's Kroger order this morning and dropped some mail at the drive-up mail box at the post office.  That's our excitement for the week.

I've only seen one Mahagonny - at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion with Joel Grey.  Is that the MET production?

No.  I can't think of a Mahagonny production with Joel Grey, although I could see him fitting right in.  I thought you were watching the Audra McDonald production.

I want to see that dreadful film of Threepenny Opera with Raul Julia and Julia Migenes.  I wish it were on DVD.

Just looked, and that's a Los Angeles Opera production. James Conlon conducts.

What's more, I found I have that one on the shelf, too, and I'm almost positive I haven't watched it.

I was. It was something I paid maybe $3 for.

No. I was only guessing that he might have appeared in the production that DR JohnG. is watching with McDonald and LuPone, since that was Los Angeles Opera. The DVD says it was recorded in L.A. in March 2007.

Aha - not Mahagonny, but Silbersee (Silverlake) - that's what I saw Joel Grey do at the Music Center - directed by Harold Prince!

Food will be here momentarily - Cheesecake Factor - two meals in one - an appetizer Caesar salad, which is quite large, and the spicy chicken over rice, which I haven't had in years but which used to be my favorite.  I'll eat half of each now and the other half later.
