I think my grandfather used to smoke a PANACEA now and then.

When in Mexico, I always bought my bread at the PANACEA.

I forgot to acknowledge The Lone Ranger. I don't remember which westerns we watched, but certainly that one, and unfortunately our westerns were never anywhere near the number of sitcoms and variety shows. Speaking of which, the one I mostly remember from my very earliest days is Jack Benny.

Well, I'm an idiot. (So what else is new?)

I called Kristi to ask where the hair clips were so I could assemble my bandana mask to go into the post office, and she said, and I quote:  "You idiot. Don't go out if you don't have to AND spend money. I can mail that from the office!"

And so it shall be done. Soon, DR JohnG. You'll have it very soon!

One question, have all of you who received your checks already filed your 2019 taxes?

Yes.

I'll still go out later for a drive, just for the car's sake.

As BK says, they've gotta be kept in shape. I can do a convenient three-to-file-mile circuit through the nabe and enjoy the fresh air as well. It keeps the battery charging, and the tires from whatever wear results when the car just sits in one spot.

And Lordy, I still have my snow tires on! :) But at least I'm not wearing 'em down.

I feel a little like a hypochondriac these days. Anybody else? I question every cough and sneeze. Can I smell? Can I taste? I asked myself these things almost daily.

I’ve never done this before, at least not that I can remember.

Miss Trey Hollingsworth is a disgrace - but then again.....a lot of politicians are.  His was a mean and dirty campaign but money prevails......

Local television is broadcasting the funeral of a female police officer who was shot and killed in the line of duty last week.

It is being held at the IMS but no public is invited.....fellow officers are staying in their cars.....

It is all very sad.

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes yesterday and the nice thoughts.....they go a long way!

Yes DR VIXMOM this here site was most essential during those weeks.

DR JANE it was such a whirlwind, I really didn't allow myself to have a negative thought - I figured that was counterproductive.  The only time I really had a few sobering moments was when I was getting readied for surgery.  My brother & sister had talked to me and left the room, the doctor came in to talk....and then I was alone ALL BY MESELF lying in that bed as the anesthetic dripped into me.....and all I could think of was "The Road Not Taken".....

I am glad for you and your good attitude.

DR JANE watching our governor here in Indiana provides a lesson that others might follow......he is calm, brings on lots of experts and lets them speak, and answers media questions submitted to him via a voice connection.....

Now if I can just do that for a day or two maybe I can break the cycle of being up in the wee hours

Vibes you succeed.

TOD

Defining childhood TV as the true kiddie stuff...

Ding Dong School
Romper Room
Howdy Doody
Captain Kangaroo
Mickey Mouse Club

I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple of important ones. I know there are a couple of local (Columbus, Ohio) ones whose names and personalities are sadly forgotten. I must do some research on that sometime.

Other than those, and certainly later on, it would be the sitcoms...

The Honeymooners
I Love Lucy
Love That Bob
My Little Margie
Danny Thomas

And I *know* there are too many of these to remember!

We have been watching reruns of the Danny Thomas Show.

DR VIXMOM this story answers a few more questions about the Where's My Payment site.  It's from my local Fox59 news station.

Oh yes, but then I normally have so many of the symptoms like the headache I have.  I can still smell and taste and my head does not feel as it is going to explode :)

We are thankful every day for ours and the way he defers to experts and treats the reporters with respect - even the jerks.
