They stayed away even in the afternoon when it was nicer.  We walked our little stretch of the beach and enjoyed the sailboats in the river.

Listening to a fantastic CD called Rapid Movement - a Russian pianist doing three Russian concertos.  I got it for the Alexander Tsafman, which is absolutely amazing, especially the first movement.  I don't know how anyone can actually play it - this guy is pretty fast, another one I found on YouTube was too slow, and then also on YouTube is the composer playing faster than is possible.

Did anyone notice that there's an unseemly extra space between "by" and "now" in the post above.  It's rather like the space between my two front teeth.
