A mezzo-soprano came out and performed Strange Fruit with the quartet. It drew a righteous response.

Ushering was interesting because of the number of people. Everyone followed the rules. They kept their masks on. They left two seats in between groups. If they left their seats, they put their masks back on.

At the end, however, we were supposed to usher people out row by row so that they didn't bottleneck anywhere. There was supposed to have been an announcement to that effect. But of course, there wasn't.

In the beginning, it was a little chaotic, but when people got the idea, they behaved without question.

That was the last thing I signed up for to usher for a while. The only other thing they have on the schedule is a local dance recital. It's a nightmare. I ushered it before. Won't make that mistake again.
