I must say that my Adelphia Cable Modem machine has been whacked out all day.  The "data" light, which normally only blinks continuously when it's actually retrieving data (like loading a website - otherwise it just blinks sporadically), has been blinking continuously since this morning.  Totally sapzzing out.  I called Adelphia and the recording says they're having problems all over the San Fernando Valley and they're working on it.  It implies that people don't have service at all - thankfully I do (knock on wood).

DRGinny, here's a BIG hint:  he was in THE FANTASTICKS, worked for a while at one of the motels on Rte 75 until he was caught doing more with the guests than checking them in, got fired as a Catholic high school drama teacher after being caught in flagrante with one of the students, may have sent threatening notes to Howard and Jim . . .

DR JANE: Evelyn is a name of my favorite English Rose. These are refined pink color having a gorgeous scent all their own and you can see them in my avatar on the left side of this very post (and  is shown usually). :)

Thank you.  I forgot the name of the beautiful rose & didn't make the connection.

And why can't you come to Tacoma in June?  Keith could drive you to MBarnum's house and the two of you could drive up to Portland, meet up with JMK and Betzy, and then head north to Olympia and meet up with George.  From there, you are only about 20 minutes from Tacoma, you meet up with Ann, and everyone goes to the theater to see Jed makes his Tacoma theatrical debut.  Now, all we need to do is get the L.A. group in town, and PennyO from where ever she may be by June (maybe even Washington), and we will have the entire west coast group (except honorary member Tomovoz) in one place at the same time!!!

Simple!  Right?

And BK said in his interview with Donald a couple of weeks ago that he's having a signing in Portland!  (I'm assuming Portland, Oregon and not Portland, Maine.)  If his signing is during the run, BK could see the show, too!! ;D ;D

BK, you did say in your interview with Donald a couple of weeks ago that you're having a signing in Portland, didn't you?  Did I remember/hear that correctly??

DR vixmom - It occurred to me on the drive to work that Mamma Mia would be the perfect show for the HHW Girls to see together this fall!  How 'bout it, Jane and Danise?

Sounds good to me, but I will do almost anything.  :)

I see where Pillowman has opened in New York.  I advise all our New york folk to go see this play.  It's the most devastating play I've read in the last year.

I read a powerful review of this yesterday.

I've been meaning to mention for the past week that Ifound I have two copies of the DVD for SINGLES with Matt Dillon and Bridget Fonda.  Would any DR like it? Let me know.

Off to bed.  Night, all!

JMK is supposed to be working on setting up something in Portland.  Haven't heard if he's been successful.  It would be fun to coordinate the two events.

Synchronicity in ordering the same DVD twice department:  I just today received the Sondheim Celebration at Carnegie Hall DVD, which had been offered as a cheapie bonus when I placed another order a few weeks ago.  The minute it arrived I thought, "Hmmm...don't I already have that in the Sondheim boxed set?"  Yes, I did.  Which brings me to:

Would anyone here like a nice still-sealed DVD of A Sondheim Celebration at Carnegie Hall?  Cheap!!!

Boy, take too long to post around here and your questions get answered before they're asked.

I just sent you a little gift with a note in it, BK, in which I discuss my current progress.

??? ??? ??? You've stumped me, DR elmore!  Please email me more details...

I knew there was SOMETHING I liked about your new surgeon - he's a Michigan Wolverine (BS, 1983).  The usual thing to say here would be "Go Blue," but maybe not this time...

I'm wearing my Michigan Sweatshirt.  :)

Well, it's not even 11:00pm here on the east coast, and I'm already feeling sleepy.  Whaddup widdat?

I'm thinking I'll be in bed my midnight, and then wake up "early" tomorrow.  I can definitely tell that the hustle and bustle of the past six weeks has caught up with me.

We shall see...

JoseS working at a hotel? Can you imagine when someone calls for room service?
"Room Service? No, no no! You'll want to walk two blocks away to the finest Polynesian Grill in town, then just around the corner there is a swell Mexican establishment that makes the finest huevos rancheros with squash caserole, then just go next door for a dessert of caramel coffee cake with lime frosting and if you're still hungry, just come up to the front desk and I'll bake you a raspbery chocolate cheesecake!"

JOSE is missing from my screen as well.  It happens now and then to avatars, but they mostly ALL return sooner or later.

Thanks for the LW and FLW info DRCP.  Yes, many homeowners have problems with their FLW homes.  I know when we took the Oak Park area tour (which was great) many of the homes were in need of exterior work.

Adelphia and Comcast...they take our money and leave us messages.

Amazing Race contestants are in India this week.  Not as exciting as some episodes because the tasks are fairly mundane - but I like ALL these teams and don't want to see any of them eliminated!

Yes, indeed, DR TOMovOZ - DRJOSE is back on my system as well.

QUEEN BEE is a good choice, MBARNUM.  Do not delay!  John Ireland is along for the ride as well.  Always a good reason to take a look.

And why can't you come to Tacoma in June?

Simple!  Right?

Simple and fun if we could travel then.  We are still planning on gutting our kitchen.  If we had begun the work at the beginning of March as we had intended June would have been okay.  Once the work begins the only way we will leave Bogie is if there is an emergency.  Now I might be able to sneak away for a few days.  Maybe Penny can pick me up if she is going this way.  MBarnum owes his mother a visit and could come get me .  I could take the bus to Portland again and hitch a ride.  Of course all this depends on Bogie staying healthy.

                                 Simple!  Right?   ;D
