Monday morning greetings!  Sorry to miss last night's show.  I got involved in a rather intense text exchange with my friend Rebecca, whose husband broke his hip last week and is not doing well in his recovery.  She's pretty much on her own in this and I'm as worried about her and I am about him.

Looking forward to catching the K & E show today.

Oh, no!

Oy. Vibes all around.

Thanks, DR ChasSmith!  I had a phone call this morning bearing news that my friend Emilie also fell and broke her hip and pelvis last week.

:o

DR Elmore, I feel a certain amount of guilt for not adopting from a shelter. Our last three cats we got before they would have ended up at a shelter, though.

All of our current cats we got within the last 2 years: Leonard in October of 2018 and Asha and Magdalena in July and October of 2019.

While we have rescued many dogs & cats we have never gotten one from a shelter.

My parents' cat Henry was from a no-kill shelter that my niece used to volunteer at.  He had been there a couple of years (if I remember correctly) and my niece talked my parents into getting him.  Now, they seem to love Henry more than anyone else...including me and my sister and my niece! ::)

I finally got approval for my $2,000 eye medication.  With insurance it is only $300-ouch.

Yikes!

Oh, that cost is for 90 days though I will have to stay on it longer to know if it works.

If I am very lucky I will see improvement before the 90 days are up though it isn't likely.

It is sad to read about the violence in Chicago today.  I doubt the kids were in the area.

...and the violent weather.  Rob texted to tell us they’re OK, but their power is out.

I hope they aren't without power long.  That is less fun with a baby.

Chicago was planned and premeditated, the usually alt-right crazy QAnon idiots trying to stir up trouble and have it blamed on BLM or Antifa.  I wish they would shoot these jerks on sight.

I loved watching The Women again. Laughed throughout and quoted along with the cast.

Mom watched a lot of it, but she didn't understand much of anything going on. I think they talked too fast for her.

Now starting the new Big Read for San Antonio. It's a mystery called The Darwin Affair. It's set in the 19th century, which I love. Dickens is either going to be a character or an acquaintance of one.
