Thursday morning greetings!  Just checking in to tell you we have houseguests who will probably cause me to be pretty scarce around here through the weekend.  Charlotte and her parents arrived late Tuesday and we’re having a great time getting acquainted.  She’s practically perfect in every way!

I suspect that “practically” is just you being humble

Isn’t “practically perfect in every way” a quote from Mary Poppins?

It is!

Larry, your question yesterday was have I watched the Miss Fisher movie? I watched it a few months ago when it aired on Acorn TV.

I've been very busy. I am scheduled for an outpatient surgery next week and expect to be laid up for a few days. Lots to take care of ahead of time.

It must be haircut season. I had one today, which I booked last week. I learned today that it is now legal in LA to have one indoors, which this was. People aren't paying a lot of attention to the official status. I was grateful that several hairdressers have left and it wasn't crowded. We were able to do reasonable distancing.

I stopped for bagels for Richard, my hairdresser, and myself on the way over and stopped at my favorite food store on the way home.

Flash Flood warnings in the DC/Baltimore area.   There were tornado watches and warnings earlier.  I think they're mostly expired now.

I missed that.  Thanks for the weather report.

Is this the one that was originally scheduled for last January?

Jane, yes, thanks. It was then scheduled for March, but we all know what happened to March appointments. Then it was rescheduled, then cancelled again. Under Covid, everything is subject to change. I REALLY want it to happen this time!

No, my hair is much too thick to not blowdry. I understand why it's best not to, but I haven't heard anything about not blowdrying in California.

Speaking of blowdrying, there was a young college student who came in who told Lana, one of the hairdressers, that she (the student) didn't know how to blowdry her hair. Lana is a very nice person, but she was clearly SHOCKED. We all were. I would think that if you've seen it done once you would know how to do it. She's studying cosmotology, too.

Interesting it is permitted there and not here.  I don't think Oregon allows it either or maybe that is a personal choice.

Hmm, maybe she meant she isn't very good at it.  I know how it is done makes a big difference in how good my hair looks ;)

All the talk of blow drying hair reminded me I needed to dry my hair.

While there is very little grey in the back, I can see that after the next haircut my solid brown color will basically be gone.  I blame it on this pandemic ;)

I may be the only person on  HHW who for obvious reasons would not know how to blow dry my hair.

For some reason my Comcast ONDemand is not working.

I tried to look up the Code but there is nothing definitive on the net.  I tried to get some help from the website but I only get an automated "Helper" that does not respond to specific questions.

My cable box has been "restarted" about four times, but nothing seems to help.

I guess tomorrow I will have to get out my bill and find the number to talk to a real person.....ugh!
