TOD: I've always had great success with The Silver Palate's chicken marbella.  But I use boneless breasts instead of bone-in pieces.

I'm Biden my time.  See what I did there?  I went to Gelson's and got stupid stuff for food - two chicken strips, a small thing of creamed spinach, and a small thing of stuffing, plus some shrimp for shrimp cocktail.  I ate the hot items about three hours ago and am having the shrimp now.  I can't imagine all in I'm even close to 800 calories let alone 1000.

I finished a movie and that's probably it for the day.  May take a walk in a bit.

BK had tuna. I was talking about my tuna salad the other day, and btw I very much appreciate the suggestions people offered.

Often, I'll eat it with a fork right out of the small mixing bowl I use. BK didn't like his on the hamburger buns, and I'm trying to think what I like it on when I make it as a sandwich. I think I do like the buns, but mainly if they're Martin's Potato Rolls which are a favorite indulgence for hamburgers and certain other things. A regular old bun, probably not. Anyway, that's if I don't have bread in the house. I mainly like it on a good multi-grain bread or even on some good old-fashioned squishy white bread.

Tuna fish must be eaten on either toasted seeded rye bread, toasted onion bagel or very very fresh untoasted seeded rye.

So, Vixmom, what would you do with two jars of gefilte fish? I unpacked them today and was thinking they could head straight for the food bank drive. But who would pick them up?

Two-thirds of the way through Troubled Blood. Robert Galbraith/J.K. Rowling can deliver a good mystery. But is 900 pages really necessary? It's not Middlemarch. And yet, there are quotes from The Faerie Queen throughout, at the start of each chapter. I've never read that. I don't know if I want to.

I have had two short naps today. I wonder how many times I'll wake up in the middle of the night.

Trump's self-quarantine seems too suspiciously timed to avoiding the next debate.

Breaking news:

Tomorrow Verve is releasing a new Ella CD, from a concert sung in Berlin in 1962. Sounds wonderful.

Back from a brisk 2.5 mile walk - was pretty full from the shrimp and felt bloated, but shrimp is almost calorie-free.  I still think that the worst case scenario, calorie-wise, would be no more than 800 and that's padding everything from the counts I saw when I Googled.   Plus the walk.

Oh, no!  Rachel Maddow just announced some sad news.  Hope Hicks has tested positive for Covid-19.  Hopefully, it won't spread throughout the president's family and closest people.

::)

Just in, they tested positive for the virus.

I just checked, and my county seems to have drop boxes in every city/town in the county.

Good.

(CNN)President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for coronavirus, the President announced early Friday morning, an extraordinary development coming months into a global pandemic and in the final stretch of his reelection campaign.

The cynics among us might think that this is a ploy to cancel the remaining debates after his horrid, off-putting performance last night AND get sympathy from his folks who'll conveniently forget that he made fun of Mr. Biden for taking precautions, and how he downplayed it, said it will just go away with the breeze, recommended ridiculous and dangerous "cures" for people to try - the cynics among us might think this is is biggest ploy yet to get sympathy rather than hatred, to distract from all the terrible things that everyone should be talking about and haven't been because of his endless distractions.  He thinks the Democrats won't dare go after him now because it will make them seem like unfeeling jerks.  Yes, the cynics among us might just be thinking these things.

When the lights go out at night I don't talk as Keith often falls right to sleep.  I check email on & then I read the news on my Washington Post app.

After reading the breaking news story I made the rare exception to the no talking rule ;D
