I clicked the "Recommend to library" link and saw that between e-book and audio, OverDrive has 37, count 'em, THIRTY-SEVEN different editions of this one title that libraries can purchase!

I expect this is your professional link.  I can recommend books with the Ashland library but not the Vancouver one.  I have learned not to bother if the books isn't from an author the library usually purchases.  I have books that have been sitting in the recommended section for years.  Popular authors they carry can get me a good spot in the queue once the book is published.

Jane, you should also sign up to get an online card from Pierce County Library.  I did it last year and they have higher limits for holds and check-outs than Timberland does, and it's another source for different OverDrive titles. :)

In honor of Marie Osmond's birthday, I posted in Forgotten Musicals on FB one of my favorite subtle sketches from BK on the Donny and Marie Show from 1977.

From DONNY AND MARIE - For those who think Bruce Kimmel wasn't born until the internet in the.1990s, there's a "forgotten musical" here on the Donny and Marie show from the late 1970s

here at 6:18 -
https://youtu.be/BBbVq9pee_4

In the sketch, Bruce's uncle owns a theater so they plan to convert the theater into a barn so they can put on a show.

That's great!

Looking at that bk clip from Donny & Marie (thanks, DR Freddie!), I am thinking: I wish I were as thin as bk was then!

I got my sinus CT scan results this afternoon.  The doctor wants to do a biopsy first before determining next surgical steps.

Maybe I should.  I always have more than enough options of books to read so I passed on doing it last year.

It's a good think I have a lot of banked sick and vacation time.  It's almost a full-time job keeping track of all the appointments.

Thank you for that clip Freddie, that was fun.  It seemed slightly familiar I probably saw it when it was first shown on TV

John & Druxy I see that your federal appeals court rules is upholding Gov. Greg Abbott’s order for only one drop off box per county :(

Back to Act 2 of Paint Your Wagon. Excellent choreography on the can-can number. Gorgeous song about autumn with a tender pas de deux.

Charles Strouse must have heard that melody. Sounds like Anyone Who Loves in Dance a Little Closer.

DR John G, yes, I worked on the Encores! Paint Your Wagon.  I restored the long missing 2nd bass/tuba part from the full scores.  That was a delightful production, and luckily some of the worst added lines to the edited libretto were cut (something anachronistic about the wordplay on miners and minors was completely wrong). Keith Carradine is such a kind man, and the cast was so good.

I made it through Act One. Will watch the rest later. The male chorus has some great voices. Someone named Nathaniel Hackman did a great version of They Call the Wind Maria.

Just put this on, not sure I've ever listened to it before.  I love the score!   And so far, it sounds delightful

Power just went off - for exactly three seconds but enough to shut the damn computer down, the microwave, too, so had to reset the time, boot up the computer - thankfully the stove stayed okay.
