Good Afternoon.  I'm glad to be home.  We started our new schedule at work today.  Hopefully it will be the last schedule change unless we go back to 100% Distance Learning.

I remember seeing "Close Encounters" as a kid, It had to have been in a theatre, but I don't remember.  I remember seeing "Star Wars" in a drive-in the summer it came out, then again in a theatre a few more times.  Who knew at the time what a franchise that would become years later.

I have never seen either Close Encounters or ET. I should remedy that.

I've never seen CEOTTK, either, but it's now in my Netflix queue. ET is a very nice film.

DR TCB, Stella is a biter.  I think it's a sign of affection, but it's also a sign that she plays rough.  I read that this is often a case when cats are separated too early from mother and siblngs.

I've had cats who were biters, but they were very gentle about it.

So many surgeries and “procedures” - past, present, and future.

VIBES for DR singdaw and everyone else recovering or contemplating new such adventures.

Thanks, and ditto!

Our little Kali was sometimes a biter cat. It was 100% affection, but some cats never lose that as a means of expressing their undying LUV.

Cillaliz and I both had cats named Callie and DRChas had a Kali? Who knew it was such a popular name?

Well, I'm excited.  Today the trailer was released for the film of James Bowen's book A Gift From Bob, in which Bob the Streetcat who was run down by a car in June, plays himself.  I really look forward to this.

It's a good think I have a lot of banked sick and vacation time.  It's almost a full-time job keeping track of all the appointments.

I know that feeling. And Covid has meant endless cancellations, rescheduling, then yet more cancellations. Vibes you don't have to deal with repeated reschedulings on top of everything else.

Thanks, DR Jane!   I hesitate to post all this stuff.  Medical crap is so boring!

I find it helpful to hear about others' ailments, their treatment plans, and eventual outcomes. It makes it easier, less frightening, should I have to go through it myself or similar issues. A sort of "Well, so-and-so went through it and they're fine."

Not that we have any so-and-sos here at HHW.

I had a productive day, which was much needed. I then treated myself to a meal (actually, two meals) from the excellent vegan eatery.

I did, too. Loved that movie. The scene in the chapel was so beautiful.

I don't understand all the hate it gets.

Voting started here today. I drove by the library and the line stretched around half of the building. In the sun. Will have to take water and sunscreen tomorrow.

DR George I attempted to sign up and can't.  "Online applicants must reside within the Pierce County Library District, Pierce County Washington."  Oh well :)

Oh...I just remembered.  Jane, are you in the Ft. Vancouver Regional Library System?  You have to get a reciprocal card, then you can check out online items.  Here is the online application site:
https://www.piercecountylibrary.org/ecard.aspx?id=1502

Then scroll down to:
Reciprocal Library (for residents of Tacoma or Puyallup, or outside of Pierce County)

Select "Ft. Vancouver Regional Library System" from the drop-down box, then continue with the application.  You should get an e-mail with information very quickly.  When I did it, it didn't take too long. :)

In honor of Marie Osmond's birthday, I posted in Forgotten Musicals on FB one of my favorite subtle sketches from BK on the Donny and Marie Show from 1977.

From DONNY AND MARIE - For those who think Bruce Kimmel wasn't born until the internet in the.1990s, there's a "forgotten musical" here on the Donny and Marie show from the late 1970s

here at 6:18 -
https://youtu.be/BBbVq9pee_4

In the sketch, Bruce's uncle owns a theater so they plan to convert the theater into a barn so they can put on a show.

That's great!

That was fun :)

Does it cost anything to drop off a ballot?  Like postage or anything...

The suitcase in the vacation skit reminds me of the time my sister visited us in Ashland.  IMHO she shopped too much for clothes to begin with.  Well, finding herself in a state without sales tax she had a grand time.  I walked into the guest room while she was packing to go home.  To my horror her suitcase looked a lot like the one in the show ;D

I called Keith to rescue her.

We have now lost power three times in under two hours, always for five or ten seconds.  I am so tired of this ineptitude.
