Keith gets his packing skills from his father.  The first time I flew to LA for a visit after moving away Craig was eight months old so there was a lot to pack.  I stayed with his parents who had a crib.  Keith's father walked in while I was packing for my return trip and noticed I was having a bit of difficulty and took over.  He looked at me and asked if Keith had packed my suitcase for me  :-[

The was the last time I had Keith pack for me unless he was traveling with me ;D

We have now lost power three times in under two hours, always for five or ten seconds.  I am so tired of this ineptitude.

The lights here at my work have been blinking off and on, but they power hasn't gone out...yet.

Voting started here today. I drove by the library and the line stretched around half of the building. In the sun. Will have to take water and sunscreen tomorrow.

I dropped off my ballot yesterday!

Does it cost anything to drop off a ballot?  Like postage or anything...

They're all postage paid, so no one has to buy a stamp if they choose to put them in the mail instead of putting them in a drop box.

DR George I attempted to sign up and can't.  "Online applicants must reside within the Pierce County Library District, Pierce County Washington."  Oh well :)

Oh...I just remembered.  Jane, are you in the Ft. Vancouver Regional Library System?  You have to get a reciprocal card, then you can check out online items.  Here is the online application site:
https://www.piercecountylibrary.org/ecard.aspx?id=1502

Then scroll down to:
Reciprocal Library (for residents of Tacoma or Puyallup, or outside of Pierce County)

Select "Ft. Vancouver Regional Library System" from the drop-down box, then continue with the application.  You should get an e-mail with information very quickly.  When I did it, it didn't take too long. :)

Thanks.  I am now waiting for my email confirmation.

I have it.  Now I need to download the app and attempt to use the system.  I hope I can just add the library to my Overdrive.

I downloaded the Libby app to my new tablet and was able to add both Timberland and Pierce County to it.

I actually remember watching the very short-lived TV show Hot l Baltimore, based on the play.  And I specifically remember her.  Then, I remember seeing her on L.A. Law and Three and a Half Men, and a few other projects along the way.

Tonight, we watched (and enjoyed) Close Encounters of the Third Kind.  The original version.

I wonder where I got the idea to watch it?       8)

Groan.  I hope your line isn't as long tomorrow.  Can you take a chair with you?

I saw others with chairs. I always have one in the trunk.

She was the starr of a movie called Heartland in which she played a farm wife. She helped a cow with a breach birth. I had never seen anythin g like that back then. Apparently, it was Julia Roberts' first movie, though I don't remember her.

Back to my movie. I had to take a break to do dishes, clean up and play with the bird.

Carol had her surgery yesterday. She woke up to discover that they did not give her a new hip, but they put in another spacer with antibiotics. That infection just refuses to go away. In six weeks or so, maybe she'll get the hip.

I have the Blu-ray set that has all three versions of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, so you can choose which version you want to see.  I actually wasn't able to find it on Amazon, so I'll have to make sure that that's what I really have. :-\

But I know I have some multi-version release of the movie. :)

And now, I'm off.  I got a couple of items that my mom asked me to buy for her, so I'll call to make sure that she's home and wants them tonight, otherwise I can bring them tomorrow or wait until Friday.

But before I go...
