Okay, a quick eBay search found plenty of copies of what I have...it's nothing too special. However, I did find some 7" records that were being sold by themselves (without the album soundtrack) and they had a slightly different label.

I've always liked Mystic Pizza. In my Drama Book Shop days I knew Joanna Merlin, who plays Julia Roberts' mother, I believe.

Last night we watched Dark Angel, a BBC mini-series about Mary Ann Cotton, England's first known woman serial killer who was executed in the 1870s. Joanne Froggatt, who played Anna in Downton Abbey, was wonderful as Mary Ann, but I found it difficult to follow and too often dark and murky, when the plot needed elucidation.

Thank you. I also saw Mystic Pizza, which I remember enjoying, though I don’t remember Conchata Ferrell in it. Time to see it again.

I don’t remember that 7” record. But I’m not sure I ever had the soundtrack recording, either.

And that might not even be correct, since I was buying a fair number of soundtracks in those days.

By the bye, I remember BK mentioning the Blu-ray yesterday as being Criterion. They only had that title on laserdisc. But it was a fine one, as I recall.

I don’t have it now, but it was issued in the Special Edition era, and I *think* it was one that they set up so you could program the chapters to play the original or SE versions. This, of course, could only be accomplished by the nine people in the United States of America who ever learned how to program their players. I may even have figured that out once, myself, not sure now.

On a related note, DR George mentioned "branching." I was always surprised the studios didn't embrace this more fully, to create "Choose Your Own Adventure" type discs.

I never went to see Mystic Pizza when it was released, but when I moved to Connecticut several months later I made a point of renting it, and enjoyed it. I later drove out to Mystic to check out the place.

The movie was shot all around that area, but the existing Mystic Pizza restaurant is not what’s in the film. It’s pretty good pizza, and fun to stop in at if you’re out there. But it’s not of the hardcore New Haven style pizza that Connecticut is known for.

Now I want to see the movie.

And I really want some damn pizza.
