Good Morning!   Today, the organizing begins.  Not until I head to the Whole Foods to pick up some dairy-free ice cream to take to a friends house tonight.

Yesterday, the boys got to go to the vet and get updated on their shots.  Leo got an examine as well and he passed with flying colors.  Tomorrow, they get groomed.  They are very fuzzy.  They don't shed so they have to be groomed a few times a year.  They are very cute when they return.

How about some photos of the nice groomed non shedding pups :)

I'll second that on page 3!

Just heard a lovely version of September Song. Just Ella and a piano, two fine instruments.

I'm really enjoying Les Liaisons Dangereuses, but ...

I can only read so many letters at one time. I'm afraid at this pace, I'll read 10 pages here, 10 there and finish the book in 2021. This is my second or third attempt to get through it. I'm determined to finish it, though.

Sadly, a modern version of this would all be done in emails, tweets and Facebook posts.

elmore, there's a stunning new 4K transfer of The Court Jester available on Amazon Prime - be careful, though, because the older transfer is also there.

I can't remember if I saw Family Plot at a screening first - in those days, my friend was a big-wig at Mann's so he always got me into interesting screenings - but that one I may have seen in Century City or in Hollywood - trying to remember if it played the Chinese.

Decided to give the Alfie Boe concert a try. His voice can be great on songs with a majestic sweep, especially when he remembers the lyrics. But he just did a version of Hushabye Mountain that didn't quite make it vocally. But his orchestra was great, and I just wish I were on a dancefloor waltzing to it.

I see it was the premiere of that year's Filmex.  I doubt I went to that, even though I'm sure I attended other Filmex events there.  In fact, I'm pretty sure that on that date in March I was shooting the Tabitha pilot and was probably in San Francisco.

I was forgetting that it was part of Filmex. Yes, they had Hitch riding in on a Universal tram, and just after the movie ended is when I got my one and only precious autograph. And I was the only one who got to him before his people ushered him out.

But I was trying to remember, too, where it screened when it was released...and I haven't the faintest. I was living in my Beverly Hills apartment and would likely have gone to Westwood. But I can't tie my memory of it to any specific theater.

I just went for my DVD and I cannot locate it.  I think my NY Public Library Music collection librarian Bob might still have it, so this is good to know.  I wanted to ask, too, is this the Hitchcock set you've been watching?

Have been working today on a project. In a week and a half, I will be giving an online presentation on tower bells and the English art of change-ringing. Not something I knew a lot about, previously. The research has been fun and interesting, and there are rabbit-holes of online videos available for illustration and edification.

My impression is that change-ringing aficionados are, by and large, an odd lot of characters.

But it is an interesting art, combining music, mathematics, physical stamina, teamwork, and mental acuity.

Meaning I am qualified to present on it, but not to actually do it.    :)

There's even a Midsomer Murders episode about bell ringers. They are odd.

I have been a bell ringer. Okay, I’m odd. What’s the point again? Oh, never mind.
