I've started throwing things away.   There is no guilt or regret

Saturday afternoon greetings!  Richard and I did errands at 2 different libraries and picked up sandwiches for our dinner.  I also delivered a batch of starter to my friend Molly, along with a sample of the cinnamon bread she’ll be able to bake in about 10 days.

Have been working today on a project. In a week and a half, I will be giving an online presentation on tower bells and the English art of change-ringing. Not something I knew a lot about, previously. The research has been fun and interesting, and there are rabbit-holes of online videos available for illustration and edification.

DR singdaw, when we were in Norwich, England, almost 8 years ago, we visited the ringing chamber of St. Peter Mancroft church.  I have a panoramic photo and a video that I’ll send via Facebook Messenger.  You’re welcome to use them in your presentation - or not.

Also, Richard recommends reading Dorothy Sayers’ THE NINE TAILORS.

Getting ready for virtual cocktail hour, take 2.  Hopefully no technical glitches this time.

Watching the reunion of Company. Interesting to see Pamela Myers in between the original cast and her recent version of Another Hundred People on the Kritzerland show. Dean Jones' Someone Is Waiting is heartbreaking. And even Elaine Stritch can be seen applauding for Beth Howland after Getting Married Today.

Virtual happy hour went off without a hitch this time. Wish I could spring for the Zoom upgrade with unlimited meeting lengths, but can't justify the cost.

Reading about the latest QAnon conspiracy theory.  Really.  Crazy-making.  What has become of our nation?

Today I learned that Dairy Queen serves their Blizzards upside down.  I think the one and only Blizzard I had was in 1976 and it was not served upside down.

Why was there such a commotion over Biden tipping his Blizzard upside down?  People could have just looked it up  ::)

DR Jane - this was the one about John F. Kennedy Jr. not really being dead, and being announced today as Pence's replacement on the ticket.

I feel like I am getting a cold.  With all the precautions I take how is that even possible.  OK, yes possible but very unlikely.  I took a Benadryl last night hoping it would kick out any allergies.  I slept so that was something.

My brother commented that he never had spelling errors until he got spellcheck.  After informing him the problem is autocorrect I sent him this which he found funny.  He lives a sheltered life and wasn't aware of all the RIP jokes on the internet  ;D

From Bruce:
Quote
I love pistachios - Peyton Kirkner's mom's family makes them up north so I get bags for free.  Hazelnuts, on the other hand, make me want to vomit on the ground.

Makes pistachio nut?

I have had to pass on many delicious chocolate desserts since adding hazelnuts is very popular.

Jane, do you not like hazelnuts, or are you actually allergic?  Just curious. :)

Just heard a lovely version of September Song. Just Ella and a piano, two fine instruments.

I just did!  I went to Washington's Voter Portal, entered my name and birth date, saw that my information was correct, and under "My Ballot" then "Ballot Status," saw that my ballot had been received ("Ballot Returned Date") and the status was "Accepted." ;D

That was great!  I'd seen the longer concert version, but hadn't seen this.  Thanks for posting it!

Today I learned that Dairy Queen serves their Blizzards upside down.  I think the one and only Blizzard I had was in 1976 and it was not served upside down.

They only started that in the last couple years.  They don't actually serve it that way, they just tip it over so that you know it's really thick...I guess.  It doesn't make any sense to me, but I do like them.
