I accepted a bid from another contractor. He’s coming out next Wednesday.

Which job is this for? Did you have to fire the original people?

I think it's for the television repair, DR ChasSmith.

Of course random people that I know are posting about what great, close friends they were with my friend who passed away on Monday.....

Where have they been the past couple of years?

Yes, DR Jrand70 - we got about 8 inches. But it will be sunny today, and rainy tomorrow, so I don't think it will stick around.

It doesn't really apply here, but popped into my head.

Good Morning.

So - yesterday evening was one of many exciting events.  When I returned home from work, there was a note on the door saying that work on the outside of our building would begin tomorrow (TODAY).  Everything is to be removed from the patio so they can do their thing.  Let me back up - on Saturday, I pulled out everything from my storage closet off the patio in order to start going through things and throwing things away in preparation for the move.  So, my patio was full of boxes, tubs, etc.  I've been watching the construction happening for a few months now and thought I had at least a week to get the patio cleared.  Well, I was wrong.  I even called to be sure the note didn't have a type-o in it. Nope, no tyoe-o.   So I hauled all of the stuff into the apartment.  It didn't take too much time, but did pre-empt a planned bike ride.  I throw this away and that away, so that felt good.

I finished watching the final season of "Schitt's Creek" - which I felt was wrapped up quite nicely - but left us wanting more, etc.   Sad that there will not be anymore I'm sure due to the people involved etc. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but sad nonetheless.

Well, Matthew, you’re moving. Just not the way you want yet. Hope it goes better from here.

My electric kettle decided to die. I guess 15 years or so was enough service.

I've cleaned off the top of the refrigerator, but I have no place to put anything inside it if I need to empty it.  Sometimes a studio apartment is a pain in the ass when you need shelf space.

Wednesday afternoon greetings!  Richard and I have a date to try to get flu shots today.  We have to go to a pharmacy, because our useless primary care practice is not making appointments "just" for flu shots.

We installed our AC unit about 24 years ago. It has only needed repair three or four times, the most recent last June.  We have been tossing around the idea of replacing it before it conks out for good. Personally, I think AC units should last at least 25 years, but I guess the standard is 10, which is ridiculous, in my opinion.

With the units being made today, the closet that houses the furnace is too small. So the whole thing needs to go on the roof, which does not please me at all.

They'll need to reinforce the roof, put new ductwork in, move gas and electric lines, etc.

It's way more expensive than we had expected. But we can't just replace with a similar item.

Do you own the refrigerator, Elmore, or does the apartment complex own it?
