First listen to a song from the new Anyone Can Whistle. Maria Friedman, like Jenna Russell in the first Sunday revival, seems into ACTING. I also found the balance off. Too much orchestra trying to drown her out.

I ordered it. I just listened to this song and Maria Friedman sang, "The rest of the world isn't all like you," which was also sung by Lee Remick on the OBC. I have a photocopied copy of the published script and the printed line was, "The play isn't over by a longshot yet!" I'm surprised that they didn't use the lyric in the script. I can only assume that Sondheim okayed it since he was involved with this recording...or maybe nobody questioned it. Just curious.

Today Texas became the state with the most Covid cases reported, passing California by several thousand. It’s also second in virus-related deaths, after New York. Our governor must be proud. The numbers have been going up by about 5,000 every day.

I went to the chiropractor today, picked up some food, then settled in to review a boatload of election propositions. California has always done a very good job of providing legislative analysis on each issue, so voters have objective information on which to base their decisions. But there are always a lot of them!

I understand your frustration. Large appliances used to last 20-25 years, and I think they could again, but it's more profitable to make them cheaply. How many people would pay extra for better quality? I'm one who will, but there's still a limit on how much more I'll pay. And I'm definitely in the minority.
