My mom and I plan on going tomorrow morning and hope to get there before it actually opens.  Hopefully we won’t run in to a similar wait.

Good luck finding your kindle DR George.  That is my worst nightmare. Although hopefully you know where it is.

I actually got the new kindle oasis for Prime Day. And I love it so much!

Thanks, Jennifer!  I did find it.  And congrats on your new Kindle Oasis!

Someone joined me up in one of those Facebook groups - this one called Classic Film Lovers, populated by some of the stupidest idiots ever - just morons of the highest order, who actually know nothing about classic films and don't want to told anything either.  The final straw was just now - someone bragged that he was teaching his girlfriend about classic films and showing her Hitchcock's Rebecca even though she wanted to see the remake on Netflix.  And this fool added a photo of his widescreen TV with Rebecca on it - IN WIDESCREEN - yes, he was stretching the image or zooming in to fill his screen.  I of course went in and asked him why he was in a group called Classic Film Lovers if he was doing that to a classic film shot in 1.33, Academy ratio, which should have black bars on either side of the image.  And a bunch of completely moronic individuals came after ME, saying this idiot could watch the film any way he wanted and filmmakers be damned.  I came back in a particularly ME fashion and annihilated every one of them - saying that the group was filled with twelve-year-old know-nothings and that disrespect for filmmakers should not be tolerated by ANYONE.  I left that up for a bit, then nuked the entire conversation and left the group.  Stupidity knows no bounds on Facebook.

Good for you!

I'm throwing away CD's.  Criteria - if they are on Spotify or Apple Music.... they are gone.  It's what it is folks, shun as much as you'd like.   I am saving all Varese and Kritzerland issues.  And that "other" label as well, I suppose.  But everything else.... haven't looked at it in 10+ years so it's going going gone.

And that's all I'm saying about THAT.

makes me sad.

To each his/her/their own (there are reasons), but it's not something that I EVER plan to do.

I just polished off the Sloppy Joes. My belly thanks me.

Forgot to add that I made an equal-sized batch using Manwich, because we all wanted to compare. In its favor, I've got to say that Manwich, in all its simplicity, gets the job done when you're starving and just don't want to go to any trouble.

But in comparison with this kind of homemade one? Feed it to the kids. Fill THEIR little tummies with that overly sweet gooey high-fructose-corn-syrup-filled goodness, and set the good stuff on the adults' table.

Or just leave the little brats at home!

When I left my house, I stopped off at work and my bag with my Kindle WAS there, so that was a relief!  I went to my sister's and we chatted, then she texted my her list as I left for the store.  She and her friends were going to order food from The Olive Garden so they each were to bring dessert stuff.

Does she not have a car, or doesn’t she drive?

She does have a car and she does drive.  She just doesn't like or want to go to the store. ::) And her boyfriend Larry was going to pick up the food from Olive Garden after they ordered it because he lives just a couple of block from it.

When I was a kid, my neighbors asked if I wanted to stay for dinner.  The mother was making Sloppy Joes.  I had only ever had the Manwich joes, so I said sure.  I fell in love with her sloppy joes.  I told my mom about them and then we had them a lot, too.

Cool.  I don't know if my mom ever made sloppy joes...even the Manwich kind.

They were real easy to make, and very inexpensive.  Brown a pound of hamburger with onion.  Drain off the grease and add a can Campbell’s vegetable soup (the one with the alphabet).  Add an egg to hold it all together.  And that is it, except I always add a slice of cheddar cheese on it.
