The line stretched from the front of the building up through a big grassy yard , back down to the parking lot on the rear of the building, wound down through the parking lot to the street, then back up onto another grassy yard, then back along the property line of the building until the rear of the line was only a few feet from where it curved around behind the building

The end was already on the grassy part when we arrived but everyone insisted we move up so The chair would be on the asphalt

Once 10 am came the line started moving pretty and about 45minutes later we were up at the next grassy patch

It was getting cold and the family behind us had a spare blanket which they insisted Mom borrow

As we approached the next patch it became apparent we weren’t going to be able to manage it with her chair

People starting urging us to go around to the other side and go to the front of the line, saying they’d let us back in line when they caught up

So we swung around to the front and the people there started asking if we had voted yet, when we explained our plan everyone started insisting we go ahead of them and just vote instead of waiting

So I raised my voice and asked the line if anyone objected to us gong ahead,

We were greeted by yells of “no!” “Go ahead!” “Vote, vote!”!

There was a large jug of sanitizing gel which we were asked to use, and the check in process was amazingly quick and easy

After Mom fed her ballot into the calculating machine and it read ‘accepted” all the poll workers clapped and a lot of the voters joined in

When we came out I left Mom there by the door and ran back along the line and returned the blanket and thanked everyone. They probably had another 60-90 minute wait ahead of them

I was also pleased to see that everyone arrived wearing their masks,( properly), no noses hanging out, Kept appropriate distancing and was unflaggingly pleasant and polite

Home from work and a trip to the shops. Dropped some popsicles by Mom's and chatted for a bit. Now I 'm home. DD Ben has something up with his eye, it seems ok, but I have a vet appointment for him on Tuesday just to be sure.

I put my groceries away and should get started on work for tomorrow. I need to get back to my packing. I have 2 stacks of CDs to upload, but that will have to wait for my new CD/DVD-writer to come tomorrow as the one I have decided to finally give up.

I'd like to be done with some stuff so I can relax (maybe outside with a pipe) before bed. It's going to be a long week seeing as though its Halloween Week. Not my favorite time of year. LOL.

I am glad she consented and thanked you. I would have wanted a chair waiting in the long lines.
