I've heard a lot of great Wagner performances, but I've never heard one quite like this mono Szell of some of the warhorses. Amazing. I wonder if the stereo versions better these mono versions.

I finished the commentary except for one song, which I'll either do before going to bed or first thing when I get up. It's an easy one. I also went back to project one and did a tiny bit more. I think I'm in the home stretch and could even finish by Wednesday if I'm diligent.

Well, Friday was the last day to invoice for the month, and today, I need to put together the report that will be used by the Finance office to print the checks for our vendors, and then I'll need to scan all of the invoices because the Finance office doesn't want paper copies, anymore.

Fortunately, I've found that I can get it all done in one day, but if it turns out that it takes longer than usual, I will stay at work today until it's all done.

Final disc before stereo. Just had an absolutely brilliant Rachmaninov Rhapsody on a Theme of Paginini with Leon Fleisher at the keyboard. Great mono sound.

DR Laura, the fridge is white. It matches the stove, but I do not have a kitchen. I havbe an a;lcpve wioth a fridge, sink, stove, and I would kill for some counter space.

DR George, about the refrigerator door: on Wednesday, when the service man called Crane Cooling, I distinctly heard him tell the man on the other end that the door was hinged on the LEFT. When it arrived on Saturday, it was still packed and hinged on the RIGHT. The installers, who were really quite wonderful, were not happy that they had to fetch their toolkits to redo the door.

The news in Manhattan this morning is that there was a riot in Times Square yesterday between a group calling themselves "Jews for Trump" and people who questioned their choice. There were several injuries.

Last night we watched The Court Jester. I had forgotten all the ins and outs of the plot, which is as convoluted as A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The one unresolved plot line was Angela Lansbury's, who loses her love to Glynis Johns. I wonder if she poisoned Griselda? I knew Mildred Natwick slightly - one of my best friends from college worked on 70 Girls 70 and really loved her - and she's so wonderful as Griselda

I also wonder if all these moronic young Sondheim fans who think he and Hal Prince invented musical theatre long long ago around 1970 are aware of a film featuring two of Sondheim's leading ladies.
