Well, if I didn't hate this effing pandemic enough already, after watching restaurant after restaurant shut their doors forever, just got the news that on October 30 Jerry's Deli will close forever.  I HATE our Governor and our mayor.  If you're gonna shut down everything for eight MONTHS then you damn well better figure out how to help businesses.  This is on their heads and they don't care, they simply don't care.

I am sorry. :(

Browsing this week's Met Opera freebies, I find this is "Politics in Opera" week.

In the contemporary music department, we have John Adams's Nixon in China on Thursday, John Corigliano's The Ghosts of Versailles on Saturday, and Philip Glass's Satyagraha on Sunday. I'm a little 'eh' on the Adams and Glass, but I have to say that those delightful Ghosts are not to be missed.

I love Nixon in China. But Ghosts is better.

I'd probably like it if I ever sat down and really watched it. I'm afraid I've only seen little segments of it, which isn't giving it (or me) a chance at all.

I much prefer Richard Nixon’s ADAMS IN RUSSIA.

Probably his dental phobia, which led to the need to extract four teeth, made everything so much worse.

Likely, however, teeth do break.  I broke one on a grain of rice.

Most people prefer to cook their rice first!

What makes the DVD  of The Met’s GHOSTS worth $180.00.  It isn’t even the original cast.

All this talk of dentists reminds me I have a dentist appointment tomorrow.

What a coinkydink!  So do I. :)

Tonight the protesters in Seattle were marching to 100% defunding of the Seattle Police Department.

HOW STUPID IS THAT?

:o I bought the Levine set from The Met's Shop on sale for $150...the whole set!  Of course, it's only listed for $180.  Who knows if it'll actually sell.

I wonder if I could split up my set and sell all the DVDs for a HUGE profit! ;)

Tonight my book group discussed the Alex Trebek  memoir.  I didn't suffer reading it or discussing it.  Unexcited about both, yes.

Why?
