He loves his belly rubs and a chin scratch.

I've watched the first 45 minutes of last night's show. Robert just finished "Anthem."  I really loved the opening number.

Kerry and Adrienne can do no wrong, and I loved the duet from Saturday Night. Why didn't we record that as well?  I was delighted the way Richard caught my orchestrations for "No Maryanne" and  "At My Side." I was delighted to hear as well that Richard played "Mack the Knife" straight out of the Die Dreigroschenoper vocal score.

What fun!

They are testing the fire alarms in our building today between 9AM and 2PM. It is so loud that every time it goes off, I practically fall out of my chair.  I guess that is good, if it were ever to go off for real while I was sleeping.

On a sort-of-related note, there was always the dilemma about which lunchbox to choose for the upcoming school year.

Richard Allen is really superb at his 3- or 4-hand multitrack arrangements. He gets everything that's important out of a score, with that wonderfully rich duo-piano sound that I love so much. And last night was exceptional with those orchestral touches.

I think Waltz is my favorite Richard Rodgers score post Lorenz Hart, and Kerry’s version of Someone Woke Up was one of my two favorites of the evening. The other was No, Maryann. But everyone was in fine form.

TOD: I liked Casper the Friendly Ghost. I had a Casper doll. Sadly, I spilled some of the green goo from the Creepie Crawlies molds on his face.

Thatch is almost like a puppy at times, sticking close to my legs. Stella's equally as bad. I worry I'll fall over them or on them at times.
