As opposed to deaux, which is something completely different.

Starting to watch Judex. I had planned on watching Boudou Saved from Drowning, but my disc was cheap and didn't really play correctly. Guess I'll  be getting that Criterion edition this month.

Also, a little sniffly from allergies. That's the main problem.

I have some French films set aside for today.

I thought that said "I have some French fries set aside for today."

And then I realized that couldn't possibly be right, given the gentleman's previous post.

Happy prep day, sir! Been there. And I believe my time's coming up next fall.

It is a rite of passage, that's for sure.

I have a family medical history, so I've been through this, I think, 4 times so far.

Late last night I had just enough of a second wind in me to see a film, so I watched one I'd DVR'd from TCM's October offerings:  a relatively late Christopher Lee / Peter Cushing one called NOTHING BUT THE NIGHT.

Hardly a masterpiece, but not your standard fare, either, and I found it interesting.

It also has a slight but amusing resemblance in one respect to Lee's THE WICKER MAN which followed.

The next one will be my third, which I think considering my age, should really be my fourth. But I went for my first one a few years late.

Unlike some, I don't like it when people get all HYGGE. Especially when it's people I wouldn't choose to HYG or be HYGGED by in the first place.

I spent breakfast fighting for my food with little piglet Stella.  She is persistent and indestructible.

Judex is a joy, and I found the original serial of silent films it's based on on YouTube to watch at some point.

By this time, I was hungry for dinner, so I ate the leftover really good and very large enchilada and read a few chapters in my Cormoran Strike book that's on my tablet.  This epub title from the library has a real due date, so I can't dilly-dally with my reading, like I can with my Kindle titles.  I then promptly fell asleep until a little after midnight, which is why I didn't show up here until after the day changed. ::)

I believe there is a long waiting list for it aside from the fact they take the book once it expires.

Yesterday, Jane asked:
Quote
George & TCB did you see our governor will be making an announcement tomorrow regarding new bans?

Tom said that he saw it, and I did, too.  I won't watch/listen to it live, but I'll find out what's it all about (Alfie ;) ) when I find out about it.

Same here.  I have a neighbor who posted on FB the Pacific that the Pacific states are not just anti-Trump but are pro communist.  I really do not understand how protecting us from the virus is either political or communism.

I know Bruce has a different opinion about these regulations as do others, but communism is really a stretch.

I don't blame 45 for the virus - that would have happened regardless - but I do blame him for politicizing it.

We are watching Merchant and Ivory's Maurice, which we haven't seen in a long while.

It was very windy today......we lost power briefly TWICE.....  With all the leaves gone from the trees, the branches waving against the sky are interesting to watch.

The SPACEX rocket will be blasting off soon.  I am watching on the Science Channel.

And tonight we have what I think will be our LAST meeting for A CHRISTMAS CAROL.....
