I saw that Barber set, but I already have most of its contents on other CDs.  I do like many of those performances.

Picked up one package - a lovely early birthday gift from FLJ and his ever-lovin' Skip - but that was an unexpected one - another package was there that I knew had been delivered.  I specifically asked if he was sure there were no other packages and he said yes, so I assumed the one package was the one that had been delivered.  Once home, I saw this wasn't it and called back the mail place and said they have to stop doing this crap - and if I specifically ask about another package, they have to actually look while I'm there.  Now I won't get the other package until tomorrow.

I think you need to always ask them to double check if there is another package.

What's wrong with these people?? :o How difficult can it really be?

I was looking forward to a relatively light week, but it proved to be quite a hectic one. Some of that was with Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. Many good deals on things I would buy anyway--not just the usual electronics, toys, Christmasy things.

I went to a much-needed acupuncture treatment today, then stopped for some take-out.

People here are really getting frustrated with the stay-at-home orders. Closing outdoor dining really got to a lot of people. Twice this week I heard rants--one from a restaurant employee, one from a customer--both blaming elected officials. People are frustrated and blaming whoever they can blame. It's like kicking the dog. I know the system isn't perfect, but they are using case counts and now ICU capacity to determine the degree of lockdown. That's rational. Some of the people ranting are not.

I went to Ralph's a couple days ago for TP. Plenty on the shelves, but prices had all been blocked out. What?! The Ralph's near me is not a great place to shop, but it's close by.

I checked two stores for hydrogen peroxide. None to be found. The drug store told me they can't get it. There was an article a week or so ago about mouthwash killing the Covid virus. I suspect that's what prompted the sell-out. Whoda thunk it?

Congrats to Jrand on his dividend check. I'm also pleased to hear he will have a happy mouth for the holidays.

Were you able to order it online or can you do without it?

It is a shame outdoor dining could not stay open.  We still have it here, for now.  I hope the restaurants were busy today as it was nice out, even got up to 50 degrees.

A walk this morning helped my mood which was very low.  It was very hard reading the news that only 13% of health workers in Illinois will be vaccinated once it is available.

Why are they not vaccinating more health workers?

Some folks in LA have court-challenged the outdoor dining thing and the judge has told county health officials to show up with absolute proof that shows outdoor dining has caused a single case or spike.  This they will not be able to do.

They won't have enough vaccinations to meet the demand.

"the federal government is allocating doses based on state populations, rather than the proportion of the populations at high risk. That means some states’ health workers will be better protected than others."
Alabama for instance, will receive enough vaccine for around 17% of its healthcare workers, while Illinois could cover only 13%, according to data from state officials.

The approach would initially leave out around 190,000 healthcare workers in Alabama and more than 570,000 in Illinois"

Is it still Friday? Why, yes. Yes, it is. Then I shall answer the TOD to say that I just received, and just watched, the "NY Export: Opus Jazz" DVD.

I watched the entire disc, a nice serving of eye and ear candy, straight through. And I have a dumb question. I'm prefacing it as dumb because I have to have somehow missed an important credit, even though I've actively looked for it. What orchestra is playing the piece in the film, and who's conducting?

Is anyone even tracking this information?  Indoor dining as more issues due to ventilation.  I expect outdoor depends on the seating.

Hopefully within a few months they will be able to take care of more health care workers.

I think it is going in terms of priority. I'm not sure if every province is different. But I think here it will be seniors homes, people 80+ and health care workers first.

Also Christmas visits that were announced a few weeks ago are now cancelled. So no visiting other homes :(

Yes.  And hopefully Bryan won't catch it before then.

Canadians seems to be taking better precautions and you have far fewer cases than we do.  I suspect you will be able to cover your health care workers in the first round.

ChasSmith - odd they don't credit the band or conductor - I don't think it's the original recording, is it?
