I saw that WALK, DON'T RUN was on today. I have never seen this movie all the way through, and its being Cary Grant's last starring role, I guess for historical sake I should at least see the whole thing. THE MORE THE MERRIER has to be better, though. Or are there those who disagree?

I never liked THE LONGEST YARD but always enjoyed the trashy soap opera THE BEST OF EVERYTHING. Joan Crawford barking orders is just so much fun to laugh at.

I recorded DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES because ABC runs it past 10 p.m., and I wanted to see CROSSING JORDAN without getting into it late.

Now, I won't see that reocrding until tomorrow. I need to get in bed and study lines (just like Joan Crawford in TORCH SONG).

This afternoon I attended a performance of THE NERD.  The cast was uniformly quite good.  I thought the first act was extremely funny, but I found the second act rather tedious.  I guess I am just not much of a Larry Shue fan.

Welcome back, Ozderek! Having you back is like running around in a cardboard ambulance going, "Woo woo woo!" in front of strangers.

It's going to be a long night...

"Be afraid...be very afraid..."  That's the second time that saying has been evoked. here today.  It's nice to be a part of the popular culture, but I sure wish I got a royalty every time that line was quoted.

Speaking of royalty checks, I do hope that Pardner Pogue is on top of this opera version of The Fly by Howard Shore - supposedly based on the screenplay by Pogue and Cronenberg, only everyone's name has been mentioned except Pogue.  Perhaps a call to Ye Olde Agent should be in order.

Busy day. We had a visitor this evening, who left a short while ago.

Favorite guy groups: The Osmond Brothers, who are still groovy.

DR Sandra has several cds that BK produced that have the Plaids, and they are all swell indeed. I especially like the Ballad of Sweeney Todd sung by the Plaids.

Favorite Otto Preminger is very difficult.

But probably my MOST watched Preminger DVD right now is BONJOUR TRISTESSE, for the cast, the location, the story, and the music.

Everyone is very good - and I love Jean Seberg in this movie.  I don't even mind David Niven much - Deborah Kerr is beautiful and outstanding and the French blonde girl is terrific.  I love the photography and the music!

Good vibes for a quick night and good health to MR BK.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE BEST OF EVERYTHING looks great and Suzy Parker as Greg is one of the worst performances EVER!  In the book of course, her suicide is prompted by learning of a gay affair between her playwright and a young actor.
Interestingly, both Suzy Parker and Hope Lange died in 2003.
Back from my lovely and relaxing steaming shower.
While I was away we seem to have had an ATTACK OF THE WUSSBURGERS.
I need to find out about that Opera...given that my screenplay was based on material that Fox owns, I'm not sure what my separation of rights are.  But if it is based on our actual screenplay, I would think that I have some rights in the thing.
Good Evening!
I had a wonderful massage tonight.  Just what I needed after today's moving activities.  -Moving as in "moving", not "emotional".  ;)
After a brief post-massage break, I headed over to Barcode - one of Richmond's "special interest" establishments.  I ended up running into a couple of friends, and I even got up on the "stage" for karaoke.  It took me a while to find a song.  There were a few songs that I wanted to sing, but the DJ didn't have them in his collection.  And then there were those songs that I knew, but didn't really want to perform.  But, after some more browsing of the selections, it hit me!  -Not the book of selections, but the song!  In honor of my last "official" Sunday in Richmond, I chose Billy Joel's "Movin' Out".  Very appropriate, dontcha think?  And a couple of my friends even did some back-up dance moves for me. :)
I am no longer a Richmond Karaoke Virgin!
;D
So, now I'm back at my "old" apartment - and since I just came from the bar, I'm a bit "smoky" - ugh.  I figure I'd crash here tonight just so that Steve can have his "space" tonight - he's had quite the busy weekend getting his new place set up.  And I didn't want him to deal with me coming in late after he was in bed.  So..  it's the couch for me tonight.  I'll get up in the morning, finish cleaning, and I should be out by Noon!  Yip and Pee!  -Hmm.. I'm not sure I like the ring of that.
Since it's based specifically on the Cronenberg film (i.e. your screenplay), I should think you'd at least be entitled to some sort of credit provision.
New notes soon.
