Then I had my celebratory lunch from Stanley's - the chicken pasta thing I love and it was superb.

Then, whilst listening to Manon, this time with Beverly Sills (a MUCH better recording and performances, which makes all the difference in the world), I implemented the little Muse Margaret things, and I adjusted some things in the first third of the book, stuff I decided to change a bit once I was in the second half of the book.

Then I wanted a celebratory sweet but knew it couldn't be pastry-related, so I ordered some Nutter Butter ice cream from a fancy little jernt close by. It's quite fun.

Then I watched yet another Hansel Und Gretel - this one from Australia. It was sung pretty well, but the witch wasn't fun enough, and the costumes were modern, which I'll never understand, the sets were terrible - so, thus far the only video that I've really liked is the traditional Met production. I would love a go at this because no one seems to understand how much humor is in this and how much kids would love that aspect. Alas... But the music!

Earlier this evening, they showed a limo/pickup truck waiting outside the gates of a prison for some guy who was expecting to be given a pardon. Supposedly he had tried to have his wife killed and it was some big internet story. I have no idea who that was and whether he got his pardon.

I'd just read that they released a list of 73 people who were pardoned, and 70 commutations, but "the list issued by the White House does not include the outgoing president or any of his family members, despite earlier reports."
