Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 102% and had a drum roll, and now it is time for you to post until the 102% cows come home.

DR TCB we already paid for our flights.  Had we known sooner we would have booked differently.   There is still hope the quarantine restrictions will be reduced after Spring break and exclude those vaccinated.

DR John G. - the Internet says there is one more Riordan book in the series after the one you mentioned, for a total of seven books in the series.

Congrats on surpassing. I’ll probably add the new book but I want to see the new perks first

I slept rather well until around 4:00 when Stella decoided that if she were up, then I should be.  She takes her life into her own paws daily, that Stella.

I needed to make a trip to my pharmacy last weekend for my eye drops, but they were out of one of them.  I need to make that trip today or tomorrow, but I think it will be tomorrow.

TOD
Live ballet performances:
I cannot remember all the ballets I have seen, but I've seen the New York City Ballet's Nutcracker at least four times live and a lot more on video.

I've seen the Joffrey Ballet perform Petruchka, The Nutcracker, and the minstrel ballet Cakewalk, with Hershy Kay's wonderful score based on Gottschalk.

I cannot remember who performed the Gilbert & Sullivan ballet Pineapple Poll, but I'm thinking it was the Joffrey Ballet.

New York City Ballet:
Fancy Free (Robbins)
Dances from West Side Story (Robbins)
Serenade (Balanchine)

The Cincinnati Ballet:
The Firebird

The Maryinsky Ballet
The Sleeping Beauty, recreation of the original Tchaikovsky production from 1890

I am really dragging around this morning. Around 7:20 I lay down for a bit, then finally dragged myself out of bed, made it, did the kitty cleanup, and, after I take the junk to the basement and pick up the mail, I don't plan to move far from my bed today.

That Fiedler CD sounds wonderful. I do have the original RCA gatefold LP. It's Dynagroove, not Living Stereo, but that doesn't always mean bad.

BK:  Was the Dynagroove treatment "baked in", as it were, or can those recordings be restored to something as wonderful as RCA Living Stereo with the proper remixing and remastering?

Last night's dream -- mercifully cut short by a 4:30 am trip to the bathroom -- defies description, analysis, and discussion in mixed company.

Don't ask.

Let's just leave it at this, for all time:  UNDERWEAR.

Dynagroove had nothing to do with the recording itself - it happened in the mastering and replication stage - the tapes are all fine, which is why the CD counterparts are mostly incredible.

I'd say I was up, but I'm going back to bed since I've had less than three hours of sleep - the McDonald's just wasn't very good and it made me a bit nauseous and I don't sleep well and I'm also down to my last two Pepcids.

TOD 1:

When I was a freshman in high school, the Louisville Ballet got Mikhail Baryshnikov to appear in Petroushka. You had to get a season’s subscription to see him. I managed to get a seat up in the balcony. Plus, my English teacher that year was a frustrated ballet dancer, so she set up what I would be seeing. That was a help.

The following year he came back and danced Balanchine’s Pas de Dix with Patricia McBride. The Louisville Ballet also staged Cinderella at Christmas that year instead of Nutcracker, and that was a lit of fun. Made me a lifelong dance fan, even if I am not a balletomane.

Along the line of DR John G.'s series, a friend has recommended to me another murder mystery series, set in Paris. The Aimee Leduc series, by author Cara Blac. The stories are in English.
