A PLEASANT VALLEY SUNDAY
« on: May 17, 2021, 12:06:05 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were pleasant and written on a Sunday (evening) in the Valley, and now it is time for you to post until the pleasant Valley cows come home.

BK, that newspaper clip in your notes doesn't say anything about The First Nudie Musical.  Am I missing something? :-\

It says "Sneak Preview" - that was us. In those days they rarely said what the preview was - it was always a surprise.

Ohhhh!  I did miss something.  I didn't even see that because I was only looking at the titles in all caps!  Dopey me. ::)

Today, a new co-worker starts.  Her name is Vivian...I think.  I'll find out officially when I get there.  A new employee's first day is usually filling out a lot of forms and there's some kind of new employee orientation, but I think that that's online now, so she'll be watching videos to learn some things.

I have a busy morning before Access-A-Ride picks me up around 9:30. I hope this whole experience goes well.

I had a very good night of sleep after the lousy one the night before. Annabelle has abandoned me for her aerie in the bookcases. I am not happy about this because I can no longer climb the ladder to vacuum it or replace her pillow with another. It's got to be really dusty up there, and that is not good for her allergies.

Kitty cleanup is finished, the bed is made and my meds taken. I'm pretty much at loose ends for 30 minutes before I have to deal with the ordeal of putting on my shoes and switching bags on my walker. The recyclables bag comes off and the trave bag goes on.

I thought I'd sleep longer than I did, but it was a solid sleep, and since I've been up, I've appreciated how rested I actually do feel. This is a ME day, the first in a few weeks, and I intend to savor it.

DR GEORGE it seems that Harold Lloyd lost his index finger and thumb on his right hand in an accident with a prop bomb in 1919.  He wore a special set of gloves with prosthetic fingers on that hand and sometimes it looks as if he is making a gesture here and there......

Well, it didn't! I realized by 9:45, when the ride had not yet shown up, that I should have booked the trip for 90 minutes before the appointment. So, by 10:00 I had cancelled the trips today, cancelled and rescheduled my appointment for next Tuesday.

On a happier note, I had a nice talk with Jeff, our super, while I waited. It turns out that he has learned from the past months that the Man With The Bike is the Enormous Jerk I have claimed for years!

My legs are killing me, and after I call my urologist about this bone scan, I'm having a lie-down.
