One week from today is the FIRST session of auditions for the 2021 Production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

I am happy to hear from some folks that they are attending and horrified to hear from others that they are attending....and right now I need JOSEPH to walk through the door - but the theatre gods provide.

To my utter delight, I just found this video of my Dublin friend Dean Power, who was the juvenile on my recording of Victor Herbert's Eileen, performing this section of Händel's Messiah.

Always love your opera and ballet posts, DR elmore3003.

Well, thank you, DR singdaw. I remain amazed at the incompetence or stupidity of some of these "directors" and wonder why the hell they ever get hired.

Seriously, DR Elmore, one of the many books you should write is your own recommendations (both for and against) of recordings and videos. I am continually amazed -- and greatly humbled -- at the breadth of your knowledge.

Yes, that last headshot is great. As were the others, but this one really is a keeper.

I'd crop a little of the empty space off the sides, which would also bring it into standard portrait orientation. But you don't need my two cents. You and she are the experts.

I'm up, I'm up - bad allergy attack last night, so only about five hours of sleep. I'll go to the Zoom thing now, then back to bed for me.

ChasSmith, I have a cropped version of today's photo but I also kind of liked this shape.

Dean Power is very talented. Thanks for sharing that, DR elmore3003.

When I was casting Eileen, I was doing all the work here on Google, YouTube, and mp3 submissions from my Dublin production team. I Googled Dean's name and found video clips of a production of Acis and Galatea in which he played Acis. It was his singing of "Love in her eyes sitrs playing" that got him the job. He's a very talented boy.

I don't know if it's going to be available after the original broadcast, or if it's going to be deleted once it's done, so I want to be up to watch it.  HERE is the announcement video.

Thanks for the info, DR George.  According to that promo video, the show will be available for viewing for 7 days, for free.

Whew!  Obviously, I wasn't paying attention to that detail. ::)

No theatre for TWO whole days.

Last night one little boy of about seven was so amused at my portrayal, he began laughing and laughing and eventually almost fell out of his seat.....    So I walked over in his direction for my last line....as is said - if you're going to milk it, you may as well get both hands on the udder.

Donald Trump was not born in 1948 nor was Mitch McConnell as far as I know - otherwise, spot on.

So my friend and I instead of heading over the Williamsburg bridge found street parking and went for a stroll through the east village
