Except that there are several wildfires around Arizona. My beloved arboretum is at risk.

Oh no! I hope it survives!

My friend and DR Laura's, Michael Gildin, is coming over today to assist me around the apartment. I have four major projects we will work on while he's in my employment over the next few months:
   1. Assemble things to go to my collection at Miami University
   2. Assemble cartons of books for DR ChasSmith
   3. Organize my library
   4. Organize cartons of cat foot

Elmore, good luck with #4

If you could see my apartment, you'd realize #4 is the easiest!

But they rarely stop moving

DR ELMORE I happened to read that the IRS was returning money to early filers who had paid taxes on Unemployment that was later waived......that might be why you got some $$$ from the IRS.

That makes sense because I did pay taxes on that unemployment. Thanks!

The first night on safari when we couldn’t return to our tent because an elephant was eating nearby. We could hear him or her but couldn’t see anything in the pitch black. All of the animals on that trip are treasured. The jeep getting stuck in the mud next to two mating lions. Oh

This morning, before leaving  Butte, we toured a mine.  First it was silver and gold before becoming a copper mine.  During WW1 it was a very important mine as copper was needed for the munitions.

LOL. He wouldn't have had much to say. I only saw him those couple of minutes after the show.

TOD: Probably one of the visits with my sister when my kids were quite small.

Also, I visited her by myself and DR Elmore arranged for us to get great seats at "The Drowsy Chaperone."

I am assuming no one here has seen the In the Heights movie yet, or they probably would have mentioned it.

Thanks for the link, DR George. I had forgotten that the Kennedy Center Honors were on. I'm used to them airing in the week between Christmas and New Year's.

My pleasure!  I'm glad I thought of looking there. :)

So this is interesting...my sister's boyfriend also missed the Kennedy Center Honors last night (he called and asked if I was recording them which reminded me to record them, but they had already started, which caused me to look online for them, which I found).  He later e-mailed me that he didn't know that Debbie and Phylicia were sisters, but that "A guy I went to high school with --- Bobby Moore --- was a football star and went on to a very successful NFL career and changed his name to Ahmad Rashad"!  Pretty cool!

And then I e-mailed him this back:

And you want to hear another "it's a small world" reference? When I did SIDE SHOW at Capital Playhouse years ago, the guy who played Jake, the black man who falls in love with one of the conjoined twin sisters, was played by Ahmad Rashad's biological son!  Ahmad didn't acknowledge him until years later when he was an adult, though. Weird, huh?

I think my best vacations were with my friend Bruce Pomahac when we went every summer to Wooster, Ohio, to the Ohio Light Opera. Many of their productions were pathetic, but a long weekend of musical theatre and driving about the area to hit used book stores with a good friend were the part of it.

Monday evening greetings!  We had a delightful time yesterday at the home of Richard's younger brother.  His son and his family (wife and 2 daughters - 4 year-old and 4 month-old) are trekking from Virginia to Colorado to relocate for new jobs and are having a rest stop in Cincinnati.  We had dinner with them and admired their 2 vehicles, one towing a trailer and the other with bicycles on the back.
