I've never heard another female opera singer who is so brilliant doing regular pop songs - she's superb - not an opera singer slumming, but one who has a totally different voice than her opera voice. I've actually never heard anything like it.

I'm with you, BK! They were hoping Kiri te Kanawa would be the next, but she's neither as intelligent nor talented as Miss Farrell. I've loved her album "I've Got a Right To Sing the Blues" since college, but that Columbia set looks great.

Her 1940s operetta recordings for Decca are wonderful.
