My neighbor Ann stopped by for a nice visit. She had been to the farmer's market and brought me a bag of fresh cherries and a small blueberry pie.

All of that calls for some good vanilla ice cream.

I concur

I'm up, I'm up - a little over eight hours of sleep. I didn't get to sleep until almost six in the morning.

Sometimes a mini cone is not enough, especially when the ice cream melted a bit on the way home from the market.

One would have been enough if the cherries we purchased weren't a bit tart.  The last ones we got were delicious.

I learned today that there are apps and websites where you can plan out your workout playlist by songs arranged by how many beats per minute they have.

Who'd a thunk it?

I just read that in Washington 70% of people 16 and older have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

I wish my country had a better percentage of vaccinated people.  We have a large Russian community here and they don't trust the government or vaccinations.  I had hoped their attitudes had changed after the terrible measles outbreak, mostly within their community, before covid.

It is possible the unvaccinated are being good about wearing masks as the number of covid cases here has been dropping.

Not here, they're not. Unless LA county is lying, which I suspect is the case and has been the case before. I'm so bored of this crap. And since all the cases that are supposedly up (from a VERY low number, so even though the percentage seems high it's only high because the numbers were so low) are ALL unvaccinated people, let them mask up and leave the rest of us the hell alone. And amusingly, as always, they never said a peep when the numbers were really low - no one did. Now, it's all they can talk about, when the news is negative. What a world.

It was a pleasant surprise to read about our county numbers going down.  Maybe smaller counties are better about reporting these things.  I am also relieved as it might mean, for now anyway, masks regulations will not be reinstated.  I really don't care, except at the gym.

I have seen cooling masks for sale that would likely be more comfortable for the gym, if only they came in my size.  If they did I would wear one without being asked.

I always have a mask in my back pocket in case I need it at the gym, and I have changed machines if people got too close.  For the most part, except for a few idiots, people are naturally spacing the machines for a bit of distance.

My sister came with her family. It stressed Mom out, but it was, by and large, a good day.

We had Chinese food. They forgot their leftovers, so I have lunch for two days.

We watched the America’s Got Talent rerun. There’s a fairly impressive drag queen, Scarlet Business, who combines drag, contortionism and hand balancing. Very impressive. Mom watched the episode last Tuesday and only tonight did she realize this was a man.

I’ve had no time to read lately. And I’ve started two good books. One is D.H. Lawrence’s The Rainbow. I got a third of the way through and want to finish it.
