Nice long walk on the beach this morning with sea breezes.

Both of my nieces got their 2nd shots today. They could have gotten them 2 weeks ago. However they were advised that they would be more effective at 8 weeks.

12-17 year olds were only eligible here at the end of May.  At that time their scheduled second appointment was only for September. But they were eventually able to change it to 8 weeks. But then people were allowed to get them at 4 weeks.

So they could have gotten them 2 weeks ago. It's at the parents discretion. And since the numbers are quite low here my sister decided to wait the extra 2 weeks. Part of it was to do with my younger niece's training schedule. She didn't want her to get her shot on Friday which would mean that she would not be able to do her Friday morning swim, her Friday night soccer practice or her Sat and Sun soccer games.

Wednesday morning greetings!  Sorry to have been E & T around here the past few days - again, no good or bad reason.  We've been watching quite a bit of the Olympics and yesterday I had 2 virtual events - book discussion at noon and card-making in the evening.

Oh, and yesterday we signed on the dotted line to have our basement water-proofed.  Bring on the jack hammers!

I have a busy day today. First, the lab work I missed yesterday and then a taxi ride to Columbus Circle for that CT scan. I will arrive early, so I'm taking the Al Hirschfewld biography with me.

DR Elmore, I hope all goes smoothly and you receive encouraging results.

That was a very good reason to wait.

Wow! I have absolutely no idea what that entails, but what a great sounding endeavor. Congratulations!

Yes, and I hope the mold abatement helps my allergies, too.

Speaking of which...

I'm here to say that this allergy day has fully lived up to its announcement as I awoke. I probably should have given in and taken a Benadryl right from the get go, but I didn't want to have a groggy day, and I knew I'd enjoy popping one in the evening for relief and a decent night's sleep. But my virtue was wasted. I've been sort of groggy just from the feelings in my head and sinuses, and I've thrown a good outrageous sneezing fit pretty much every hour on the hour. I also spent my day in a YouTube rabbit hole, so ..... so much for my noble intentions.

We went with the middle option, because the cheapest seemed only cosmetic and the most expensive involves a backhoe.

This is something that has to be done before we can sell this house - not that that’s imminent.  We figured do it now and enjoy it for a while.

I'm not popping the Benadryl yet (I'll do that about 8 pm), but do you know what I just noticed?

It's cocktail hour.

And let me tell you, relief comes in many different forms.

To my utter delight this afternoon I found Thatch sitting in the top level of the cat tree. I guess he's feeling himself.

I'm glad to hear that BK's $3.06 class action suit win helped so much. A little miracle even!
