Unless you like to work on cars. If that's the case, buy used.

We sold my car that was always giving me problems.  A couple purchased it for their teenage son.  We kept repeating everything that was wrong with the car and they kept responding their son would have fun fixing it ;D

Friday morning greetings!  So, the work that was supposed to begin yesterday on our front porch is now scheduled to begin Monday.  And, we just received a notice from the city that our water will be shut off Monday for about 8 hours beginning at 8am.

OH NO!  Goodluck!

My piece of unsolicited advice:

Buy a new car and take good care of it.

Except for stuff that wears out, we have only done one real repair on mine. It's a '12. None yet on my DH's '14.

They both had dealer warranty work when they were young, but that's all.

That's my plan.  My Ford Escort is a 1998. :)

I had thought you were thinking of a slightly used car.

I didn't walk the entire way as Keith dropped me off near the freeway entrance and headed to the gym.

On the way to the post office I just had to stop and play with a 7 month old Bernese Mountain Dog.

Since Keith picked me up on his way home I didn't get as far along the walk back as I expected.  I played with the pup about 15 minutes.  Thank goodness there wasn't a line at the post office.

I'm going to be looking for a new car soon, and eventual problems with all the newfangled electrical stuff in new cars is something I'm not looking forward to having to deal with.  My current car is 23 years old, and I've really only had mechanical issues because there's not much that's electronic as compared to the new cars of today. :-\

Will you do some online research first?  It might help to have an idea which cars offer what you want and hold up well.

I have been...a little.

I'm not opposed to a used car (but I wouldn't want one with a lot of miles), but from what little searching I've done, used cars with low miles aren't much less than new cars, so why not just get a new car?

It was always going to be Krup. Never the F word. Nobody chickened out - you couldn't have done it back then - not on stage, not on film. Plus the Krup is what works in terms of the song itself.

I don't think they cut it from the Spielberg movie and I'm quite sure it will be Krup as written.

elmore, don't remember Carmine's at all but it's certainly possible we went there with Sally. Also, I've been following the missing girl story for the last four days on YouTube. The media trying to make it MORE dramatic than it already is nauseates me - with ominous music even. Just report - the story is dramatic enough without all the hyperbole and bullshit. And they keep headlining their YouTube videos with NEW EVIDENCE - you watch and there's no new evidence at all.

very confused but hesitant to join in the castrecl discussion of "Gee, Officer Krupke, Krup you" rather than "F-- you."  and I guess if the profanity should be in the new WSS movie, and Larry, you mention a question of whether the  number will even be in the Spielberg movie.

But doesn't "Gee, Officer Krupke, Krup you" sound clever and funny, though, while conveying the profanity.
while "Gee, Office Krupke, f--- you" is just angry at the end of a fun song.

I know Sondheim has addressed this, I think in the lyric book. It was originally supposed to be f—k, but folks chickened out. Krup you is funnier because you’re expecting f—k and got something else. It’s like a rhyme that’s unexpected. You expect moon and spoon, but not bassoon.

I don't recall any swearing in the book for "West Side Story," so why would the Jets suddenly shout "Fuck you"?

Because Sondheim loves the word and wanted to be the first to use it in a musical

According to 42nd St., "musical comedy" are the two most glorious words in the English language. But opening night will do.

Then went to the library to get some DVDs for the weekend, including A Man Called Adam with Sammy Davis Jr. and Louis Armstrong, Original Cast Album: Company and the Merchant-Ivory movie, Quartet with Isabel Adjani and Maggie Smith. It's been 40 years since I saw that last one.
