tonight is our CLOSING NIGHT - and that's all right with me. I've been working on shows and driving 70 miles a day since April - so a break is in order.

Enjoy your break.

I was researching the new cookbook DR John G. mentioned, and that let down a rabbit-hole.  Who knew there were such fancy charcuterie board sets available? With hidden drawers and slate inserts and all kinds of fancy stuff.

I have made the almonds and the roasted beets. The dough for the shortbread is resting before baking.

I also managed to crazy glue a couple of things, one of which worked (a broken Christmas candle holder that, I think, had broken in the same place before). I don't know about the other (a busted flip-flop) just yet.

And I've got my plants back from my friends' house. Not everything survived, but several of the plants have more than doubled in size.

Since they offered to drive the traffic over the bridge for us we suggested Beaches and that we would treat them for dinner.

DR CHAS SMITH I have read that play ....Part Two....and it is most excellent.  Some might even say amusing.....but I don't think you will be lost just because you haven't read the original....

I always liked it - and I sometimes say it - when some actress rushes into rehearsal and starts apologizing and it is said:  "Well, if it isn't Nora five minutes after A Doll's House."

And of course there is the eternal question - What happened to Topsy at the end of "Uncle Tom's Cabin"?
