It seems that former DR JMK is music directing the stage version of King of Hearts. I saw the original Broadway production.

Everyone is talking about books.

I ordered a couple of plays to read since MR BK has been reading plays, I have been inspired to see what's out there.

The haven't arrived yet so I bought a book at the Goodwill store to read in the meantime.

It is remarkable how uninterested I am in the life of Winston Churchill.  It seemed like a good idea at the time for $2.49 less my 30% senior discount.  It was not.

Which book did you buy?  So much has been written about him, plus films and mini-series.

And ever since I got out of bed it's been e-mails, calls, picking up packages, eating, and now a damn Zoom thing for an hour.

In the meantime, for you viewing pleasure watch THIS: Wilshire Boulevard - the Miracle Mile - 1951 - the week of August 1 to be exact. Note how empty much of it is. Note that they were selling BOMB SHELTERS in 1951! Note Du-Par's - which, just eight or nine months earlier had been the Kiru Cafe, my father's second restaurant! Note the La Brea tarpits, most of which would be gone in 1964 when they built the Museum of Modern Art. https://youtu.be/5fL8n_aAisQ

That's cool!  I really like the cast recording.

The "Nothing Only Love" reprise (the Act 2 quartet), although brief, is quite cherce. As bk might say.

Fascinating. But has the traffic in LA ever been that light?
