Tonight I watched the video of DAMN YANKEES.  I want to play the role of Applegate so bad, I can taste it.  I still love that film.  Tab Hunter is so damn cute in that movie.  He may not be the world's greatest actor, but his cuteness got him a long way in that film.  Now, if I could only cut the WHO'S GOT THE PAIN number, the movie would be almost perfect!

George, why don't you call Tacoma Little Theatre and see if they need ushers for ANNIE GET YOUR GUN?

Would the take someone who has never ushered for them before...sight unseen?

But I certainly don't mind paying...then I can just watch the show and not have to worry about any "ushing" responsibilities. :D

You could always ask.  Tell them that you usher a lot in Oly.  If you don't want to usher though, I can see if I can come up with a comp for you.  Of course, if all I can find is a "2 for 1", then you will have to insist that Michael Barnum comes up to see the show, so you can get your discount.

That sounds like a plan!  Either is fine with me! ;D

I don't know what the month of June will look like for me, but I am hoping to be able to see ANNIE GET YOUR GUN...most likely it would be on a Sunday matinee.

I hope you can make it, Michael, Jed and Ann and I would love to meet you -- finally.

Do you know when THE THREE STOOGES MEET HERCULES will be out on DVD?  When I saw it as a kid, I don't think I had the same appreciation of Hercules that I do now.

Question for BK (although it isn't Ask BK Day).

For the movie version of DAMN YANKEES, they imported the entire Broadway cast, minus Stephen Douglass, and even staged it presentationally on the screen.  So, why did they bother to substitute a mediocre song like An EMPTY CHAIR for A MAN DOESN'T KNOW?  Would they have been trying for a Best Song Oscar, way back in 1955?

I haven't left yet (to go to the house that I'm house-sitting) because I decided to do some laundry.  I realized that I have no clean clothes...so I'm still here.  Anyway, I too have a question for BK.  I'm watching the DVD to What If?.  In the song "When You’re Waiting for Love," written by you, I can't understand one line.  I think Alet sings it well, but I'm just not getting it.  Here's the phrase:

Can’t you see that I’ve become a trouper,
In the waiting for romance to come
??
Set me free relieve me from this stupor
Are you, perchance, the great romance I’m looking for?

I know it's supposed to rhyme with "for" but I just can't figure it out.  And did I get that whole line correct?  Can you enlighten me?  I totally understand the rest of the song, but that one line...I don't get it.

Well, maybe not tonight...but someday. ;)

I must now go.  My laundry is in the dryer and I can just let it go overnight.  I'll be back in the morning (to my home) to put on my newly washed usher clothes so that I will be properly attired to ush.  Goodnight all.

"In the 'waiting for romance to come' war"

I don't know why they substituted the song - but they did that frequently back then.

Thanks for the answers, BK.  It just bugs me every time I watch that movie.  If it was a better song, I could understand it, but it isn't.

We bought a cucumber on our shopping trip today for this greek themed dinner we're having tomorrow.  Nice to post after being E&T this week.  School is winding down, summer is a-coming-in.  The trivia questions were fun!!

If we don't have a completely lame day tomorrow, I do believe we shall achieve our new plateau.
