This is another of "those" days, I'm afraid.Up early, had some coffee and learned that my cousin Debra, daughter of my recently deceased aunt, had to call an ambulance for her husband Saturday evening. The hospital has admitted him. Poor Rob has many problems, not the least of which has been a bout of bladder cancer. Today, however, they are assessing his liver functions. He has been, to my mind, an "energizer bunny". I learn of all his ailments and hospital visits and radiation, etc., but every time I see him, he is on his feet and pleasant and non-complaining.There was absolutely nothing for me to do except pray a little and offer to help when they need me.And, of course, I fretted over it all day.Getting older is a very mixed blessing. And the older I get, the harder it is to see the blessings for what they are because of the people you lose.Sigh.Morbidity finished.

Today is going to be a day. My sister wants me to come over and help put up Christmas lights on her front porch (she already put lights on her tree), then I'm ushering for a local production of a play called Until the Flood. I don't know what it's about, but I'll find out soon enough.

Buddy turned around in time to see Walter. He absolutely flipped out. First, he jumped straight up in the air, at least a foot. Next he started flapping and thrashing while trying to climb up over my shirt. And from there, he ran out of the room.

It was touching but too short! It could've lasted a few minutes more, at least.
