Today, I have an appointment for lab work at the VA.

It's a drive of about 30 minutes, but it's in Aiken SC, and I like Aiken SC.  There are shops there with food I don't  find here in Johnston SC.  There is a "Fresh Market", which I love.  It is a chain similar to Trader Joe's, and it has wonderful foods, a deli, a butcher, a bakery and wines and beers and various, sundry (and possibly sundried) thingies, and a great cheese selection.   

And then there is Sam's Club.  Sam's is relatively new to me in that I only joined back in September.  Have been back three times, and love, love, love shopping there.

Tuesday morning greetings!  They basement guy has already been here, found the reason for the water, and fixed it.  Now maybe I can do a little more hall decking without having to wade through a big puddle to get to where we store the Christmas decorations.

Today would have been my father's 100th birthday. I love him and miss him enormously, but I still want to dig up his body and kick his ass for the mess he caused with that Ohio property.

That's quite the anniversary. But it's only three and a half years till I'll be saying the same.

Vibes, as always, re that damned property...

Are the people hoarding cream cheese the same ones that are hoarding toilet paper, I wonder?

Most likely.

The actual shortage was in the industrial sector where they make it for the restaurants, delis, bakeries, etc., and it was started by a cyber-hack against one of the suppliers. Of course they're all blaming the trucking situation, too. I think the shortage in the stores is only due to people reading about it and doing their knee-jerk hoarding.

It really shouldn't last long, and I know I won't be of their number.

Just don't come near my stash of TP and PT...

Thanks, DR Jane.  Turns out it was actually a pipe that had dislodged from the dehumidifier on our furnace.  We need to have nephew Scott, our HVAC guy, come for our winter check-up anyway, so we’ll alert him about trying to prevent a recurrence.

Meanwhile, I’ve brought up another basketful of Christmas decor.

Due to colds/possible covid, we missed a stop with friends. We said we would catch them as we headed back north.

Instead we spent the night in a hotel in Santa Maria.

The good news is we seem to be ok. It's hard to tell with the rain and damp weather bothering our allergies.

Thank goodness our possible exposure was after our visits with Keith's almost 94 year old uncle and almost 87 year old aunt

No, we stopped about 45 minutes before the Inn. Darn, now we wish we had driven the extra distance.

Don't ask me why, but in my memory, the Madonna Inn was always in Santa Maria. I just checked, and I see that it's really just north of San Luis Obispo. That's quite a dislocation for the likes of me. Bizarre.
