This morning I read something that made a reference to Hot Shoppes cafeterias. To my knowledge, I only knew one Hot Shoppes. It was in the then-lovely Severance Center Mall in Cleveland Heights, Ohio in the late 1960s, early 1970s. My family had been frequent cafeteria-goers, usually on Sundays after church, throughout the 1960s. I've always remembered this Hot Shoppes in that mall as being at least as nice as the best of those, and probably nicer. I miss all of that dearly.

Now I seem to be attaching the name Stouffers to those Hot Shoppes. Did they own them at one time? I must google.

EDIT: Nope. Looks like just Marriott through all those years.

Well, the Spectrum technician was a lovely Hispanic lady who found the problem, A crew will be coming to replace the cable running from the basement to my door. I don't even need to be home when they show up.

When I watch The News all I can think of is NETWORK.

Each news service broadcasts what it thinks its viewers want to hear - and the viewers all flock to the channels that support their views no matter how ridiculous or unlikely those may be.

You can listen to one news program talking about Omicron and then turn to another news program that is saying just the OPPOSITE. It is like an alternate universe.....but you can almost predict exactly what each news service and each "anchor" will say.

Traffic is obviously unavoidable even when one lives in a low-key backwater town.

I really wanted the ceiling fixed, so I let it go. I'm triple vaccinated, so I figured if I got sick it would be mild.

The amount of spam email coming to my Gmail account was huge throughout 2021. A day or two after Christmas it dropped from maybe a hundred spam emails per day to single digits.

I've seen that happen before, but not like this. Of course it'll build up again. But it's almost as though a major worldwide purveyor of it got shut down and sent to Hell. (Wouldn't that be nice?)
