DR Ginny, we haven't heard any more about Richard's foot. Is that problem now history?

Thank you for asking, DR Jeanne.  From Thanksgiving to Christmas we made weekly visits to the burn clinic in Dayton and each week I learned a new procedure for treating and dressing the wound.  At first that had to be done twice a day, but by Christmas we were down to once a day.  We’re still there but the trips to Dayton are not as frequent.  It’s healing nicely and I suspect the appointment this coming Wednesday may be almost the last.

It’s going to get cold tonight, and I’m starting to feel it now.

Watching Menace II Society for the first time since it came out. Very powerful and maybe too depressing for tonight.

I managed four hours of sleep this morning.

Four, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

It was very good sleep, but not nearly enough.

Tonight should be a snooze-fest.

Brunch at Christine's Farm to Fork restaurant was delightful.  We all three had the Big Jake Platter, which consisted of three eggs, bacon, andouille sausage and grits.  The service included biscuits and apple butter.
Coffee was particularly good to me, but my cousin prefers a much lighter roast and wasn't all too pleased.

All of us absolutely despised the andouille sausage because it was uber-spicy and burned our mouths.  The rest of the meal was delicious.  The bacon was crisp, the eggs fresh and the grits were both generous and scrumptious.

Sigh.

When our plates were collected most of the andouille sausage remained on our empty plates.

When I returned home it was time for my weekly Zoom chat.  I lasted about two hours and thought I needed to nap. BUT...when I sat down to nap I couldn't.  I was too tired to nap!!!

So, television was the ticket.  I watched "The High and the Mighty" (Warner Brothers, 1954).  Somewhat silly nowadays, especially given that John Wayne's character opens a door in the main compartment of the plane and starts throwing out masses of luggage that mysteriously fit in the front of the plane.  No air compression of any kind resulted in that door opening.  And he just stood there throwing out piece after piece.  They made a good show of opening and closing the door, however.

Starting to watch Tango Shalom, an all-in-the-family film starring and co-written by Joe Bologna, featuring Renee Taylor (also a producer) and directed by Gabriel Bologna. Lainie Kazan is also in the cast.

DR George the information on when you can return to work is a bit confusing.  You might check if work has a current policy.  If you need to retest before returning maybe you can guess which day and make an appointment ahead of time.

I read the e-mail that went out and it kind of looks like if I've been vaccinated and boosted within a certain period of time (and I am), then I can actually go to work with a very well fitting mask, but it's not absolutely clear, so I'll call in the morning when I get up.

Jeanne, I didn't drive to Palm Springs, Robert did. No way I'd chance the motor car doing that drive.

Back from a spectacular evening - packed to the rafters - almost ninety people, which is capacity for the room at this time. More in the notes.
