My DH is from Chicago,  so of course he found a local hot dog stand. Those are probably the only hot dogs I have eaten in the last 40 years.

We got about a quarter-inch of that white sh-- last night, and thankfully it was one of those that we successfully blew off with the leaf blower first thing this morning. That may sound laughable, but no plow or snowblower would be able to pick it up, and if anyone had driven over it first, those tracks would be a thin but solid stretch of ice for days to come.

It might happen again tonight, and we are READY FOR IT.

I have yet to try a hot dog (or "Coney") at the Cincinnati chili places, and I will make a point of doing so next time.

In the meantime, I have now more or less perfected GREAT chili-cheese-onion dogs at home -- and in so doing, I've probably managed to eat more of them in the last couple of years than in all the years prior. Oy!

A Coney is a joy.

I am about to begin my five mile walk today.

You can pick up an extra mile for me. I’m still leery of the outdoors because of pollen. And it rained overnight, so the mold will be thick.

Betty Jo and Steve are having marital problems on Petticoat Junction....Betty Jo was all packed to go home when the rest of the family moved in on them because the Shady Rest was being fumigated....

Things worked out okay.

I started to read Safe Passage last night and got 60 pages into it in no time. The stories of everyone from Rosa Ponselle to Maria Callas are great. Can hardly wait to get back to it.

Marcie from Jack's Trash just called and my pickup day has been changed from Friday to Tuesday starting tomorrow.  I hope I remember......I will have one whole bag - since my last pickup was on Friday.

I may add the dying plant from the living room since I will have a nearly empty container.

Yes, yes it is DR JOHN G.

I think it’s because Uncle Joe moves too slow.

From DR George:
Quote
I read the e-mail that went out and it kind of looks like if I've been vaccinated and boosted within a certain period of time (and I am), then I can actually go to work with a very well fitting mask, but it's not absolutely clear, so I'll call in the morning when I get up.

I gather you won't return to work until you feel better.

I got "some" sleep.  About four hours again.   But it WAS sleep, and that was something.

Sorry though I wish I had gotten four hours last night.

The Danbury Mall used to have a Nathan's outlet in their food court. Perhaps they still do.  I thought their dogs (and their fries) were pretty great.

Finished Frank Langella's Dropping Names last night. It was a fun read, funny and at times quite moving.

Frank Langella and my father toured Europe in a performing group many many years ago.

Yes, I used to stop in there occasionally and it was always good. They might still have it, but I've hardly been in there during the past two years and they've considerably redesigned the food court so I'll have to check.

They did lose the Panda Express, causing me no end of distress. :)  I had literally just "discovered" it and enjoyed one (1) whole meal there, just before the pandemic hit!
