I was hungry after the gym and couldn't resist the Girl Scout cookies at the market entrance.  Aside from having shrunk to about half the size, the Samoas didn't taste very good.  Keith agreed.  After eating two I felt sick, probably just me as Keith is fine.

I tried another one in the evening after slightly softening it in the microwave.  While it didn't taste must better, I didn't get sick again.

We're having an outdoor coffee hour today. I'm staying out of the church building. My five-year-old sous chef had omicron last month, so I am comfortable being in the kitchen with him.

Stay well vibes!

National Love your pet day?  Annabelle asked.  Is that today?
Yes, I told her, but I love mine every day!
As you should, she responded before she returned to her Backstage casting notices.

It is Sunday afternoon.

I went to church, ate some lunch and had a 3 1/2 hour Zoom chat.

I need a nap.

Guess who is 70 years old, although perpetually claims to be 13?

I think it is interesting that he has more than a resemblance to Howdy Doody.

It's another gloriously beautiful sunny day in Johnston SC, although it's a bit cooler than the past couple of days.  We hit 79 on Friday, 67 yesterday, and it's only 56 today.

The cats and I have lounged about watching the PBS cooking shows. I'm having some pasta, and then I will return to my lounging.

This evening we're celebrating Nathan's birthday. It's actually tomorrow, but the next two nights are hosed for all of us. (He and Kristi are the same age, 16 days apart. Both birthdays in February, both turning 51 this year.) And I have just been informed that we're doing takeout from Texas Roadhouse. That will be good.

Speaking of pasta, does anyone here like an arrabbiata sauce? I didn't know about it till a couple of months ago when someone told me to get a jar and try it. Apparently the really great brand to get is Rao's, and the only one I found that day was Vesper Bros. But wow, what a great new experience in tomato sauces. It packs some heat from crushed red pepper, but it's not outrageously hot or overbearing (for my taste), and the flavor is absolutely incredible.

I love a good arrabbiata on a thick pasta like rigatoni. Hungry.

Finished off The Moon and Sixpence. Denholm Elliott was really good. A great character actor. Olivier managed to transform himself into a hulking Gaugin type.

I made a small batch of chicken and noodles yesterday......I shall finish them up today - so I don't have a BIG bunch that will last three or more days.

Hmmmm Michigan Coach J. Howard certainly showed his true colors AGAIN today.

Suspension seems almost too small a punishment.

Yes Smarty was glad to be out on the road.

The name plate looks very nice.  The dates are correct and the name is spelled correctly.  It is just as he requested.

His crypt faces the west so he will be able to have the sunset on him every day.  And he is on the top row.....so no monkey business from marauders, unless they bring a ladder.

Rutgers plays Purdue later today.....and I am hoping Purdue wins.

I have several cousins and friends who attended Purdue University - which for a long time was known as a farmers/agricultural college.

I asked my friend Brian if he had pledged to a fraternity there and he said:  "Yes, a famous Purdue fraternity:  I Grabba Hoe."  Which means something different nowadays.

I had two sous chefs this morning; brothers 5 and 9, who both recovered from omicron last month. So I was ok being in the kitchen with them.
