From John:

They were not my favorite. I think I read two or three. But I loved the William Cannon TV series.

Odd, I can't find it.  Which series was it?

Nero Wolfe. It only ran one season.

Mystery solved.  There is more than one Nero Wolfe series, and two of those only lasted one season.  None of them are with William Cannon, which is why I couldn't find it.

It was William Conrad :)  I can picture him in the role.

William Conrad played Cannon. My head is exploding

I would leave the appointment, realizing I hadn't retained one word of what he had said to me...

Yup! ;)

I just got home from radiation. The driver on the trip must be the most clueless driver I have ever encountered. Even with the GPS he screwed up all the way home. Oy!

GPS?

I wonder if it helps in getting through the one-way streets and avoiding known traffic problems.

I just never would have thought of needing GPS there, at least in that part of town. But I'm not a GPS user anyway, though I probably should be. I've tried it a few times on the phone, but I don't have it built into the car.

Every AAR driver uses it. It's great in helping them get around the five boroughs,

That would most definitely be a huge help.

I might have to put a mount on the dashboard to hold the phone so it'll be more convenient to use it. But I have to get used to setting the phone app up, whichever it's going to be, and using it in general. I've just been lazy about doing it because I haven't gone anywhere I'm not totally familiar with in such a long time.

I don't use a separate GPS app.  I just use the Google Maps app and it's been right every single trip that I've made.

I had a dashboard mount for my phone and I really liked it, but the plastic rod that holds the suction cup to the window broke.  I'm going to wait until I get my new car before I get another phone holder.

So, I'm at the local Red Wagon and right after I ordered my food (fortunately, I got my order in first), someone came in and ordered seven, count 'em, SEVEN orders of chicken strips AND seven orders of fries for a total of $118!

I binge watched JOE TIGER or whatever that was called.

I don't have a lot of platforms, I still have cable - so I can only binge watch stuff that has already been broadcast.....

We bundled up to go for a walk and headed out.  When we opened the door from the building atrium to leave the building the very cold wind blew us back in.

Well Marqueeta was not quite sure what had happened to the annuity payout, she said...."We need.....oh...uh....no we have that.....well we need.....oh no we have that.....there's is a ....oh no there it is.  Well I will have someone call you this afternoon about this.  I don't know what has happ'n."

So Michael called about noon and apologized and said our claim had been setting on someone's desk instead of being sent to actuary, but that he would "expedite" it and it should be sent out next week.

We shall see what happens.

I saw one of those. I enjoyed it, too. But the books are a little, I don’t know, brittle.

Cousin Edie's viewing was very nice.  Met a lot of folks and saw some relatives.

Her 87 year old husband in a wheelchair said to me:  "I haven't seen your mom and dad for a long time....."

I just said:  "Well they are doing fine....thank you."

Only Anita Morris could make saying 55 in Italian sounds hilariously pornographic.
