TOD:

I played Uncle Wiggly as a small child.  Then there was Monopoly, Sorry, Scrabble, and there were different games played at friends' houses that I remember playing but not the name of the games.  One was about the world...acquiring countries and, possibly, building armies?

I also played Gin Rummy, Old Maid, Go Fish.

And, natcherly, 52-Card Pickup.

DR RON PULLIAM you may be talking about RISK which we played.

Also: Clue, Monopoly, Sorry, Go To The Head of the Class, and Life.

We had a Parcheesi board on the opposite side of our checker board - but we never played it or even read the rules.

Thursday morning afternoon greetings!  I've spent the morning clearing out a pile of magazines - skimming back issues and recycling.

Family favorites, and I know I'm forgetting a few:

BOARD GAMES
Sorry
Chutes and Ladders
Candy Land
Checkers
Chinese Checkers
Monopoly - generally a long Sunday afternoon thing for us, not played on a typical evening

CARD GAMES
Gin Rummy - which we just called Rummy, very likely a simpler version
Pinochole - which my mom and dad were introduced to by their church groups, and I eventually learned it
Hearts - and other simple games, none of which I really remember

We also liked putting puzzles together.

I'm up, I'm up - six and a half hours of sleep. Might try for another hour or two.

We had the Careers game, but we rarely played it.

As for cards:  I'm from Indiana, so it was Euchre all the way!

There's always a glitch. A deal may have been made on the Ohio property, only there's one proverbial fly in the ointment: the City of Middletown has to approve the use of the land. They've already kiboshed the last sale, which was to make it a parking lot for huge trucks. The current plan is to create a family-friendly game park . . . if the City agrees.

Oy!

TOD:

Monopoly ruled. But because it took so much time, it wasn’t played as much as checkers, chess or Mensch ärgere Dich nicht, a German version of Aggravation.

I also loved Masterpiece, an art market game based on paintings in the Art Institute of Chicago.

We also had Candyland, Dream Date, Life and the Bible Game.

I’m a bit groggy from the medications. The cream did make me sleepy as promised. The ankle looks a little better, less angry red. So, hopefully healing has begun.

More healing vibes.

Was that the Barbie game where you went around the board collecting dress, a date, and other items needed for the prom?  I hated the doll but loved the game. It kept me entertained in 8th grade when I was very sick and was moved from my bedroom to the pullout couch in our den.

It was terribly boring having nothing to do and being too sick to read.

Isn’t your property near, or even adjacent to, the site where one of our new fire stations will be built.  We passed the bond issue in last month’s election.
